Though I speak with the language of the educator and the psychiatrists and have not love, I am
become as blaring brass or a crashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of planning my child’s future
and understanding all the mysteries of the child’s mind and have ample knowledge of teenagers,
and though I have all faith in my children, so that I could remove their mountains of doubts and
fears and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed and nourish them
properly (vitamins and all), and though I give my body to the backbreaking housework and have
not love, it profiteth me nothing.
Love is patient with the naughty child and is kind to him. Love does not envy when he wants to
move to Grandma’s house because “she is nice.” Love is not anxious to impress a teenager with
our superior knowledge. Love has good manners in the home….does not act selfishly or with a
martyr complex, is not easily provoked by normal childish actions.
Love does not remember the naughtiness of yesterday and love thinks no evil…it gives the child the
benefit of the doubt. Love does not make light of sin in the child’s life (or in her own, either), but
rejoices when he comes to a knowledge of the truth.
Love does not fail. Whether there be comfortable surroundings, they shall fail, whether there be
total communication between parents and children, it will cease, whether there be a good education, it shall vanish away.
When we were children, we spoke and acted and understood as children, but now that we have
become parents, we must act maturely. Now abides faith, hope, love…these three are needed in
the home. Faith in Jesus Christ, eternal hope for the future of the child, and God’s love shed abroad
in our hearts, but the greatest of this is love. (Seashore, M., Evangelical Beacon).

At Junior High Sunday School we will continue
teaching the students how to give their personal story. That means we will be breaking
down what a testimony looks like, why it's
important and why you should always be willing to share the story of God with those who
are around you! We do not always have opportunities to focus on testimonies like this
and encourage you to bring your child on this
day so that they can learn theirs as well!
JUNIOR HIGH GATHERING
A morning where we honor and celebrate
our graduates in Church! Services are at
8:45am and 10:30am.
Sometimes in high school we may find
that we want to live our lives on fire for
God, but we just don't know how.
What do I read? How do I pray? How
do I treat others around me? Especially the annoying ones! We try, but then
life happens and we get distracted,
discouraged or lost. This series will be
a hands on series where we will pro-
Sundays, 8:45 - 10:00 a.m.
If you want your child to really start
learning about the foundations of the
Christian faith then you should definitely
consider bringing them to Sunday
School. Both Jr. High and Sr, High classes are working through the Catechisms
of the Christian faith (books that break
down what we believe as Christians).
vide specific reading plans for you,
weekly #livethescript challenges that
you can apply to your week, and a
challenging lesson that will dig into
how Paul instructed the Church of
Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 5 to
live out there faith!
Hillary and I have now been here in Jordan
for a little over three months. And what an interesting three months it
has been! Our school is going great. We are both progressing in our
language studies very well and are speaking Arabic much better than
before. As some of you may know, our house was broken into a little over
a month ago. We had come home from our studies to find our door kicked
in and many of our belongings stolen. Aside from feeling invaded and
insecure in our own house, we now had to fight the temptation to dwell
on anger, suspicion, and fear. However, when the enemy comes in with his
own attacks you can also see God work His grace in such amazing ways.
Friends and family from home as well as here have met us where we were
at with both prayers and support in such amazing ways. And our Lord
hasn't let us loose our desire for the lost either. I had the pleasure
to share with a Taxi driver the Gospel message. It was such a blessing
to share not only in Arabic, but at a time where I was so Spiritually
down. I have also had the privilege to share with a much closer friend a
poem that I wrote for him. Its a poem that summarizes the Gospel message
from beginning to end. We both sat down together and my friend let me
read it to him and explain each section of the poem. We have since then
continued our discussions of God in peace and growing boldness. With all
that has happened here in Jordan from the first time I came here alone
to now with my wonderful wife, it has been so amazing to see God lead
and guide us both. Hillary and I have been helping out at Church with
childcare every Monday for a while now. The Church ministers to refugees
mostly from Syria and Iraq who have been forced to leave their countries
for safety or their faith. We always have a wonderful time with the
children as we read, color, and play. We have recently met a new family
and have had the chance to visit their house for a couple of hours and
are hoping that we can invite them over to our house next! Well Hillary
and I are in a season now where we are really trying to refine our
ministry. We believe that sharing the Gospel is our main priority.
However, we also believe that God has put things on our hearts and has
equipped each of us with gifts that will strategically advance His
Kingdom. We would love for you to join with us in prayer as we seek
God's guidance in this matter in hope for a more fruitful and lasting
ministry. And as always, we appreciate the love and support that has
made this all possible. It is through the Body of Christ that God
reaches out to the lost, and its our joy knowing that we don't walk
alone.
God Bless!
