WAYNFLETE CLASS OF 2015 SENIOR WEEK SCHEDULE Date/Time Friday, June 5 Senior Project Presentations Campus 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Event Location Seniors who have been involved with Senior Projects deliver individual presentations about their experiences. Senior parents are encouraged to attend as many presentations as possible. Seniors & Juniors are required to attend for the day. Saturday, June 6 Spring Formal TBD 8:30 p.m. – 11:30 a.m. Tickets are available from the Café. $15.00 per ticket, in advance, or $20.00 at the door. Sunday, June 7 Seniors vs. Faculty Softball Game Fore River Fields 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Seniors vs. the Faculty in their nearly annual softball grudge match at the Haffenreffer Baseball Field at Fore River Fields Athletic Complex. Barbecue lunch included. Senior/Faculty Dinner Monday, June 8 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Italian Heritage Center The Senior Dinner is a reunion of the Class of ’15 after a month of Senior Projects and an opportunity for the students and faculty to appreciate and reminisce about their time together. Transportation will be provided from school, leaving from behind Thomas House at 5:15 p.m. Parking is also available at the Italian Heritage Center. Please Note: Only seniors and Waynflete faculty attend this function. Commencement Rehearsal Tuesday, June 9 TBD Merrill Auditorium There will be a mandatory rehearsal for the Commencement ceremony held at Merrill Auditorium. A bus will be taking students from behind Thomas House, or Seniors can drive themselves and meet us there (be prepared to pay for parking if you drive). Wednesday, June 10 8:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. End-of-Year Classes & Final Assembly Campus Seniors return to their second semester classes to receive their corrected exams and say farewell to their teachers and classrooms. Attendance is mandatory. The school day ends with an Assembly for all Upper School students. (Please see other side) Date/Time Thursday, June 11 Event Baccalaureate Service Location Franklin Theater 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Seniors meet in the Chorus Room no later than 10:30 a.m.) An ecumenical service to honor this year’s senior class. The service lasts approximately 50 minutes. Baccalaureate is followed by a luncheon in the Gym; immediate family, seniors and faculty are invited to attend. Dress (for seniors): Boys – Slacks/sport coat/tie Girls – Blouse/skirt or dress Please remember that because of space limitations, only immediate family is invited to Baccalaureate. Friday, June 12 Commencement Ceremony Merrill Auditorium 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. 20 Myrtle St., Portland Seniors are to be at the Merrill Auditorium no later than 3:30 p.m. A traditional ceremony to honor this year’s senior class and the Drake Award recipient(s), lasting approximately 90 minutes. Eight invitations may be picked up from Wendy Curtis, Senior Class Advisor. Invitations are not tickets. One invitation may be used to invite more than one person. There are no tickets or reserved seating for guests. Dress (for seniors): Boys – Dark slacks/sport coat/tie/etc. Girls - White/cream dress Flowers: Provided by Waynflete Seating: Senior will sit on stage. Guest seating is not reserved. Parking: Special parking for elderly or disabled guests is available. Please call Juanita Nichols at Waynflete (774-5721 X1222) to arrange. There is limited street parking available around Merrill Auditorium. Most of it is also restricted to a two-hour limit. Several lots are nearby and there will be a shuttle running from campus to Merrill starting at 2:45 p.m. and running approximately every 10 or 12 minutes, last departure at 3:40 p.m. A Class Picture will be taken at 3:45 p.m. Copies will be available for purchase. Individual photo sessions with the photographer may be arranged. (Information on ordering and scheduling individual sittings will be available in the Waynflete Weekly and by mail in May). *All underclassmen are welcome to attend Commencement.
