Resource Centre
We are here
Working with the
Community
REGISTERED CHARITY NO. 1061265
Community groups can be very
interesting as their needs are so
varied. Elizabethan costumes, for
example, are used by Erato Consort
singing Tudor madrigals at Queen
Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge and
costumes for light classical opera by
Meridian Opera performing at
Copped Hall. We also supply
costumes to a small group who visit
Eppingen in Germany every
other year with a different theme
each time. One year all the men
dressed as women for a pantomime!
We are open every weekday
(except Thursday)
10.00 am to 3.00 pm
in term time

More than 100 schools, 100
churches and almost 100 community
groups have used us in the past five
years - some once or twice a year
but some much more regularly.
We have 18 volunteers at
present, 2 of whom have
special needs, and we take pride
in helping people back to work
after periods away from
employment for whatever reason.
About the Christian
Drama Resource Centre:
CDRC is a small local organisation which
started 25 years ago. In 1995 it became a
registered charity and moved out into the
community. All the work is done on a
volunteer basis and is funded by
donations, gifts and fundraising.
SERVICES TO CHURCHES &
COMMUNITY
There are six main areas of work that
CDRC can offer to churches; as an
ecumenical Christian organization we aim
to help with evangelism, outreach and
fellowship in the following areas:
1. Story telling team
Using costumes and props we aim to
bring a bible story to life and encourage
audience participation.
2.Supply (loan) of costumes
and props for sketches in church,
holiday clubs, church drama groups,
fundraising events and nativity plays,
outreach and fellowship events.
3.A library of Christian scripts
and sketches.
4.Talks and Presentations for
groups e.g. over 55’s, church or
community fellowship groups meetings.
5.Puppets
Andrea, our storyteller, has several
puppets. We like to encourage new
puppeteers through training in small
groups
6. Story-telling and Drama
Workshop Training in Small
Groups
Do you want to use more drama in your
church with children’s work or in worship?
Do you have people who are willing but
lack the confidence to do it?
Why not make use of Andrea’s long
experience and expertise in these areas?
Andrea is a qualified primary school
teacher (B.Ed.Hons. in Drama and
Education) and has had many years
experience with all ages (including people
with special needs) running drama
workshops, drama groups in churches,
using drama in worship and outreach and
also working in Schools.
She is willing to come and lead small
groups to encourage your own people to
develop their talents!
EDUCATIONAL
SERVICES
This service is for parents, teachers and
helpers on educational school visits to
historical sites. It is also for drama teachers
involved in school presentations. We can

including: - Greek, Roman, Viking,
Saxon, and Stuart.
5. Book Week Characters
We can also supply nativity

book early as these are in great
demand
