A Certificate Program for Public Information Managers
Town Hall Meetings. Nixle. Facebook. Press Releases. In today’s world, there is no shortage of ways in which
public leaders can communicate with their constituents. However, knowing how to effectively share information
in the digital age while there is still demand for print and face-to-face communications can be overwhelming. But
what if in two weeks you could learn proven strategies and gain a toolkit of communication practices that could
be applied to your organization? The Strategic Public Communications Certificate program offers four, 2.5-hour
courses that take you through the ins-and-outs of communication planning, emergency communications, working
with the media, and social media strategies. Gaining these essential skills will not only help you gain confidence
and credibility in your role, but will ensure that your constituencies will be well-informed and engaged in your
organization’s efforts.
The first four seminars are scheduled over two days from 9:30am-3:00pm. The advanced seminar can be added as
a third day option. Single day registration will be accepted if slots are available beginning June 8th. All classes are
capped at 20 students.
Municipalities registered with Sustainable Jersey can qualify for grants up to $150.00 per day.
Priority is given to those who register for two (2) or more days.
