This two-day course will start each morning at the Center of the West at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Open to students ages 11-15. Advanced registration required. Learn all about aquatic ecology and management issues in the Bighorn Canyon as we paddle the waterways. We will explore, canoe, and camp along the shores of Bighorn Lake on this trip of a lifetime. Open to students ages 11-15. Advanced registration required. Fee $80/ student, $70/member (scholarships available) 17th: Geology Rocks! | Family Fun Day Learn more about the amazing geology of Yellowstone and the Rocky Mountains through fun games, activities, and crafts. Interested in learning to paddle board or kayak? Combine your interests with this fun nighttime workshop with Mr. Pete Idema. 8:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Open to all. Advanced registration required. Fee $35/participant (boat rental included), or $15/participant if you have your own boat. 18th: Hiking the Clark’s Fork Canyon Renowned geologist Dr. Marv Kauffman will lead participants on a geological exploration of the amazing Clark’s Fork Canyon. No cost— advanced registration is requested. 20th: Floating through Time Explore our outdoor geology classroom with Mr. Rich Davis, as we raft down the Shoshone River learning about the stories within the remarkable cliffs and rocks along the shore. 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Open to students ages 11-15. Fee $25/student, $20/ member (scholarships available). 18th: Water of the West | Family Fun Day Learn all about water in Wyoming and the western United Stated through fun games, activities, and crafts. Free with admission to the Center. Activities are ongoing throughout the day 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. 29th: The Science and Art of Matching the Hatch Join Trout Unlimited and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department on a thoughtful investigation of the aquatic insects of Wyoming’s streams. Participants will learn about the life cycles of insects, and learn to tie fly patterns to match the hatch. Advanced registration required. Open to all adult aspiring entomologists, anglers, or fly-tyers. 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. $40/participant, $35/member. All programs are made possible by a special grant from the R.
