Get started sewing! Whether you're new to
sewing or haven't touched a machine in years, this
class will get you comfortable with the basics.
Learn your way around the sewing machine, as
well as primary skills, including fabric and thread
selection, pattern layout, cutting and pinning,
while making a cover for a throw pillow.
This class (or equivalent sewing skill) is a prerequisite for other classes.

Make the adorable and versatile Ice Cream Dress
for a little girl in your life. The pattern is included
with the class, and comes in sizes 6 months to size
12. We’re big fans of the Oliver + S patterns
because of their excellent writing and helpful
diagrams. This is wonderful first garment project.

holiday table runner

This flattering, easy-to-sew skirt is a great everyday
piece that can be made in a variety of fabrics. Details
include practical front pockets, smooth side panels that
don’t add bulk, and an elastic back to eliminate zippers
and buttons. The skirt can be dressed up or down
depending on your fabric and styling choices. Once

Learn some piecing and quilting skills while making
this fun holiday table runner. This class meets on two
Saturdays in early December, so it can be completed
and on your table before your holiday entertaining
begins! We’ll have kits to make the table runner with
Christmas themed fabric, or choose fabrics that work
with your decor. This class is an excellent skill builder
- including all of the steps needed to make a quilt,
but on a small scale.
pre-requisite: Sewing 101 (or equivalent skill) plus
experience with a few sewing projects. Students
should be comfortable setting up and operating the
machine and performing basic sewing steps
independently. This a great first quilting project.

Schmidt’s pattern in this one-session class. It makes
a great teacher or hostess gift. Make it from
holiday fabric, or something that works all year
long. We’ll use Insul-Fleece by Pellon inside the

are quilted for stability and detail before they’re
sewn together.

ornaments. You’ll use a combination of hand and machine stitching and make several ornaments while
you’re here - which ornaments and the level of detail is up to you! These make great teacher gifts, hostess
gifts and tie-ons for wrapped presents. All of the supplies are included in this class, so just bring your
creativity! You’ll leave with some ornaments, as well as instructions to make more at home, if you wish.

sewing with knits: hoodie
basic appliqué - holiday shirts
Gain some experience sewing with knits, while
learning some tips and tricks. This fun hoodie is
perfect for mixing and matching fun knits! We’ll be
sewing from The Charlie Tee and Hoodie pattern from
Fishsticks. The hoodie can be made in any size from
12 months to adult XL. It’s versatile and includes the tshirt pattern and instructions. This might be the
beginning of your love of sewing with knits!
Learn the basics of appliqué while making two
cute seasonal shirts. You'll learn the techniques
and tips for both machine and hand appliqué.
Bring two plain t-shirts to class, and leave with
two cute appliquéd shirts. Appliqué is a
versatile and useful skill. Class includes all
materials except t-shirts.
This class is a single session, but will require some
fabric preparation before class.

sewn kids: kids 101
Revamped kids 101 class introduces the machine and focuses on the skills and process of making a pillow
case. During class we’ll make a travel-size pillow case. The travel-size pillow is included with the class, the
student will select and purchase the fabric, which totals less than one yard. Each child will go home with
written and illustrated directions to make the travel-size pillow case or a full size pillow case. The class is
limited to four children to increase individual attention.
Ages: 8-12
Price: $49 (class includes all materials: pattern, 12” x 16” pillow form,
fabric and thread)
No experience necessary. Each student may use one of our sewing machines,
or bring his/her own.
