Flutist Nicole Schroeder has performed dynamic solo recitals across the country from Massachusetts to Oregon. First Prize Winner of the 2014 International Shining Stars Concerto Competition, Nicole recently performed as a soloist with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta at Carnegie Hall and the DiMenna Center. Of her Carnegie Hall debut the Epoch Times wrote, “Schroeder played with a beautiful, well-projected tone undiluted by excess air, as well as subtly understated dynamics and lyrical phrasing.” Nicole has played a wide range of venues in NYC, including Merkin Hall, Steinway Hall, Guggenheim Museum, Skirball Center, the cell, and The Bitter End. Nicole is Principal Flutist and Piccoloist of the Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra and has performed with New York Opera Exchange, Joffrey Ballet, Berks Opera Company, Garden State Philharmonic, One World Symphony, and the SymphoNYChorus. She is featured on rock band Symfinity’s debut album Intangible Dreams and collaborated with Seann Branchfield on the Branchfield/Schroeder Duo album Gateway in 2012. An avid musical theatre fan, Nicole specializes in auxiliary flutes and has played with innumerable pit orchestras in New York and Pennsylvania. In addition to maintaining a busy performance schedule, Nicole enjoys teaching flute in her private studio and as a Teaching Artist for Arts Connection in NYC. She was previously on the faculty of the Geneva Conservatory of Music in Manhattan, the Community School of Music and the Arts in Reading, PA, and the Governor Mifflin After-School Music Program in Shillington, PA. Nicole holds a Masters of Music degree in Flute Performance from New York University, where she studied with Bradley Garner.
