TERMS & CONDITIONS OF INNOVATION COMPETITION:
1. ELIGIBILITY

Competitions are open to all undergraduate student (minimum 2 / maximum 4) students
only.
All participants must be listed as active students in their respective universities until the
competition finished.

Every group of participant is compulsory to send only one innovation to be presented.
The Best Innovation will be awarded with RM 2000.00, while the Best Presentation will
be awarded with RM 1000.00.
Every participant will receive a certificate and souvenirs for every participating
innovation group.
Every group of participant will be given a 3mx3m booth for the exhibition.
The innovation must be displayed all the time during the exhibition at the appointed booth.
Representative from each innovation group should be studying in the same institution.
Duration for the presentation of the innovation product should be 15 minutes (10 minutes
presentation + 5 minutes Q&A).
Every group of participant should prepare a presentation slide using Microsoft Office Power
Point which include :

Every group of participants, need to send their presentation slide by email to
[email protected] before 4th April 2015.
2.10 The innovation product must be original according to their own creativity based on the
theme of the competition which is “Innovation for Competitive and Dynamic Generation”.
2.11 The innovation product will be judge by :
2.11.1 The idea proposed (Originality/ New Idea or Adaptation Idea)
2.11.2 The forms of innovation ( Objective of Innovation, Creativity, Materials used, User
friendly , Accuracy of information)
2.11.3 The impact of innovation ( Society, Economic Growth, Individual, Green
Environment)
2.11.4 Improvement of product ( can be improved, problems can be overcome)
2.11.5 Presentation (the use of visual, oral communication and effective public
speaking, detailed presentation)
2.12 Cost for the preparation of the innovation product is on your own.
2.13 The organizer reserves the right to refuse any entry that are believes does not meet the
eligibility criteria, objectives and rules of the competition.
2.14 Internet access will not be provided. Presenters are advice to bring their own broadband or
internet modem devices for easier data access.
2.15 The appointment of the judging panels for this competition is the sole responsibility of the
organizer of „International Biotechnology Competition& Exhibition 2015’ (IBCEx 2015).
2.16 The jury‟s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
2.17 By entering the Competition, all participant agree to the possible inclusion of their
innovation product in any media coverage by the organizer and the Sponsors, such as
press releases or publications.

All presentations, verbal communications, written documentation, and competition will be
in English.

Any rules changes, clarifications, and/or agenda will be announced to all participating
universities before the competition.

All participants should fill in the registration form and email it directly to

The organizer will use the contact details provided in the registration form to contact the
participants about the competition. The organizer is not responsible for inaccuracies in the
details which have been submitted by the participants.

All participants need to inform the organizer if they are scheduled to arrive early ( a day
before the programme started) to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Registration Fees :

All participants are needed to pay the participant fees in order to participate in this
competition.
5.6.2
Each participant are charged RM 100 per person in order to participate.

ethically.
Any misconduct behavior may cause disqualification for the innovation team.
