Ammunition Testing Services

Ammunition Testing Services
Chesapeake Testing offers ammunition testing in
accordance with SAAMI, FBI, and NATO protocols.
Our in-house calibration system allows for greater
repeatability in testing, more accurate data sets, and
fast turn-around time.

XCT Scanning
Chesapeake Testing operates one of the most
powerful high-resolution XCT systems in use today.
The large walk-in bay 450kV micro-focus system
enables large objects (up to 37 inches in diameter)
to be imaged with extremely high resolution. This
system, combined with Chesapeake Testing’s other
XCT systems and state-of-the-art processing and
visualization tools, allow XCT to be applied to
numerous industries. Chesapeake Testing also has
production scanning capabilities, allowing for quick,
cost effective quality control.
Reverse engineering of Soviet-era 7.62x39 BZ
projectiles:
• Segmented internal components and provided
customer with solid models
• Projectile QA/QC
• FEA modeling of flight performance and material
characteristics
Case Studies
Failure analysis and non-destructive testing
of brass casings:
• Fast inspection times allow for non-destructive
inspection for many components
• Combined with electron spectroscopy data to
provide a full material composition
