Nursing Values Excellence, Inte grity, Advocacy, Per sonal Connecti on Best Place to Work Best Patient Experience ANCC-Approved Provider Status Achieved Therapeutic Relationships Workshops Offered—Reconnect to Your Passion and Purpose! Congratulations to the Clinical Education team for their instrumental role in obtaining the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)-Approved Provider status. ANCC is the world’s largest and most prestigious nursing credentialing organization. This designation means Clinical Education can grant ANCC credit for continuing nursing education offered by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Continuing education is required by nurses’ professional code of ethics, many state boards of nursing and nursing certification entities for nurses to maintain professional licensure and certification(s). According to the ANCC, continuing education includes learning activities intended to build upon the educational and experiential bases of the professional RN for the enhancement of practice, education, administration, research or theory development. The goal is that the education would help improve the health and well-being of patients and the public and also to help RNs pursuing professional career goals. If you are interested in offering educational opportunities, you can apply for approval for continuing education contact hours through CRMC. The application process is posted on the intranet under the “Clinical Education”department tab. The approval process is fairly straightforward. However, requests will only be granted if they are submitted at least two months prior to the planned event. Approval of continuing education credit hours cannot be granted after an event has occurred. The Beryl Institute, an influential thought leader on patient experience, defines the patient experience as: “The sum of all interactions, shaped by an organizations’ culture, that influence patient perceptions across the continuum of care.” Think of our experiences as employees and as patients as the story we tell at the dinner table. As healers we have a unique opportunity to be with people during sacred and vulnerable times. We have a chance to create individual authentic connections with each other, patients and families. I hear stories of this daily and see employees becoming inspired to keep connecting and caring for others. I would like to invite you to join me in one of our upcoming eight-hour “Therapeutic Relationships” workshops. The workshops are designed to expand and strengthen connections in order to improve personal experiences and the experiences of others. Please sign up in HealthStream, and be ready to reconnect to your passion and purpose in healthcare.
