Pop a gift certificate in "Knit One, Sip One" wine glass for a festive surprise. We also have a great selection of books, kits, needles and needle kits, including the great new many-colored Dreamz and Serendipity Needles. Serendipity Needles allow each knitter to express their personality not only in their knitting but in their knitting tools as well. Our needles are precision turned from North American White Birch. The "warmth" of the wood and the smooth, silky finish makes our needles easy on the hands and a pleasure to knit with. These wooden needles also provide for a quiet knitting experience. Each pair of polymer clay finials is individually handcrafted in a wide variety of styles and colors, from whimsical to elegant. VOGUEKNITTING LIVE! A few years ago we taught the Great American Afghan and it was great fun for the teachers and the students. Since then, we have had many requests from our dear customers to have a series of classes that meet once each month so people can get together to learn and have fun at the same time. Well, we are proud to announce two class series that will meet each month of 2012. They are Knitter’s Boot Camp and Crocheter’s Boot Camps. Knitter’s and Crocheter’s Boot Camps are designed for any level of knitter or crocheter. This sequence of classes is designed to improve your knowledge of knitting/crocheting and expand your horizons. Bootcamp classes are $5 each or $50 for the year when paid by January 21, 2012. The Staff of Nautical Yarn will be teaching the classes. We believe that any level of knitter and crocheter can learn new, improved, and/or different techniques. We hope you find the Boot Camp series interesting and helpful. We are limiting the number of participants to 15 to insure a quality experience for each participant, so sign up soon. During each Boot Camp class techniques will be taught that can be used to complete a small project. In addition to the Boot Camp classes, Nautical Yarn will schedule individual project classes throughout each season of the year. For example, this winter we will offer our Wellington Boot topper (or socks) class and an adorable Bunny Baby Bootee class. Complete list on page 3. Here is a trick to fix this problem. 1. When you have two stitches left (one on the right needle and one remaining to be bound off on the left needle), insert the right needle from back to front into the stitch BELOW the last stitch. 2. Place this stitch and the last stitch on the left hand needle and knit these two stitches together. 3. Then bind off the last stitch on the right needle. 4. Cut yarn and pull through last remaining stitch to secure. Neat as a pin. FIT KNITTERS Thanks to all of you who supported the Fit Knitters Race for the Cure team. We raised over $1,200 with your help. The Fit Knitters team had 10 members. Five walked the 5K and two ran the timed race.
