Never Too Old to Learn
Have you learned everything there is to learn? Do you know all there is to
know about everything? I hope you all said, “Of course not!” (If you didn’t, then I have
a real surprise for you.)
I think we all realize that we never stop learning and even if we were to have the
sum total of human knowledge at our disposal, there would be new facts and discoveries
already tomorrow so we would never really “know it all”. This isn’t only true of our
human knowledge, it is also true of our spiritual knowledge. Not that there will be
something new about God tomorrow, but there is so much more about God than we
can ever really know. Therefore I conclude that none of us “knows it all” when it
comes to knowing God. I would even go so far as saying that my own experience of
knowing God and learning about Him is this: the more I learn and the more I know, the
more aware I am of how much I don’t know!
So, what’s the point? Why am I rambling on about this? No one’s arguing with
me. In fact, I suspect no one is even disagreeing with my conclusions. The reason I’m
stressing this point is I meet many people every week who think that they don’t need to
learn any more about God. People act like they have no need to study Jesus’ Word because they’ve already completed their study and so they know
all they need to know! Are you one of these people? If you’re
not, then you must be taking advantage of the opportunities
that come your way to study God’s Word.
One such opportunity we’re trying to develop here at Christ
Community Church is Sunday School for ALL ages. In fact,
our Leadership Team has decided to keep Sunday School going
through the summer...9:00 am every Sunday. And we’re adding a class for teenagers so that everyone from 3 year olds all
the way up through 103 year olds have a class being offered
for them where they can learn more about Jesus!
I’ll be teaching the class for teens (youth who are in middle
school through high school age) and I’m hoping many of you
will come! In June our lessons are:
“Keeping Our Eyes On Jesus”
“Knowing Christ”
“Knowing Christ - part 2”
“Jesus Is Enough...and More Than Enough!”
Pastor Richie will continue to teach the Adult Class which is presently studying
Proverbs.
In Luke 6 we read that Jesus said, “A pupil is not above his teacher;
but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” (Luke
6:40 NASB)
If you’re not perfectly and completely like Jesus yet, then you’re not done being
trained yet. Basically, YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO LEARN!
I hope to see you in Sunday School often this summer...
His and yours,
Pastor Dave

We lift up many of our faith family who need an extra measure of God’s grace as they fight with illness, face surgery, gain strength in
recovery and healing, grieve the loss of loved ones, search for new employment, and seek God’s will for their lives.

To stay up-to-date on the prayer requests we are asking if you have someone on the prayer list you want to keep on the list,
please submit a new prayer request. Fill out the “Comments, Prayer Requests and Praise” tear-off on the side of Sunday’s
bulletins. We will be compiling a new prayer request list EACH month. You will need to fill out one of these requests
each month you would like us to continue praying. You could also e-mail your prayer request to
[email protected].
This will help us to stay up-to-date on each individual request. We also appreciate your updates on answered prayers.

We are having a fundraiser for the Bible Camp
Scholarships on Sunday, June 28th after the morning
service. Some of your favorite people will be taking time
on the perch daring you to put them under! If you would
like to see Pastor Richie, Jeff, Steve, Julie, or Terry
dropped into a cold tub of water, get in line!
As always, there will be food.
If any of you had the privilege to attend Bible Camp in
the summer growing up, you realize what a strong
experience it can be. Yes, there is a lot of fun to be had,
but having Bible time with kids your own age can change
a life. We need to replenish our scholarship fund this
year as it was depleted last year. So come, eat, and have
some fun and support Christian growth in young lives!
*Free-will offering for both the food & the dunk tank*

We will be continuing our Wednesday evening ADULT BIBLE
STUDY through the summer, meeting at the church from 6:007:30 pm. We are hoping that some of you who volunteer to
teach, listen and lead our children’s ministry and youth ministry
programs during the school year will actually be able to come and
join us during the summer when you aren’t having to teach. This
will give you an opportunity to be fed instead of feeding!
We’re continuing to study the Gospel of Luke and absolutely enjoying the rigorous discussions that arise from our study of the
text. There’s so much to learn and so little time to cover it all, we
never run out of things to talk about. Come and join us. You will
most certainly be blessed!
Everybody is welcome. If you can’t commit to being here every
week, don’t worry about it. Each lesson is self-contained so you
can be a part of any and each lesson that you are able to attend.
Here’s our projected June schedule:
June 3
Luke 6:39-49 How to Live Life
June 10 Luke 7:1-10
Such Great Faith
June 17 Luke 7:11-17 Jesus’ Compassion
June 24 Luke 7:18-28 The Greatest of the Greats
Join us at NOON on Sunday, June 7th
in the Church parking lot. We will
leave from the church and arrive in
Pequot Lakes to have lunch at the
Dairy Queen before riding back to
Nisswa.
There is a sign-up sheet
located in the church
lobby for anyone that is
planning on riding their
bike or driving.
For those of you that have a
LAPS bottle, please make sure
you have them turned back in to
the office BY June 21st.
21st Also,
please check your name off the
list when turning in your bottle,
so we know who still has theirs
checked out. Thanks!
