Above all our church building is a sacred space– not an
auditorium or gym– or a social hall. It is consecrated as a
holy space—and is “home” for those who are also
consecrated in Baptism as the Beloved of God. I ask
parents in monitoring the clothing of God’s sons and
daughters. LGaetano

Monsignor’s Corner
I am far from a prude. I have been at two colleges
Bethany and Walsh, and am familiar with informality.
In fact ,I am more comfortable in a casual setting than in
a formal one. However, I have noticed that the line
between informality and immodesty sometimes is a thin
one. I have no problem with men or women wearing
shorts to church and comfortable tops (even with logo
and words IF respectful and without innuendo.)
So what is my concern? Short shorts that leave nothing
to the imagination, and tops so short that when a person
sits down or bends over there is more of their behind
showing than “Joe the Plumber.” That is one side of the
concern. The other is for a sense of modesty and
decorum that respects the human body-especially
women’s clothing that does not distract every male who
still has an ounce of breath in them. Also, the
temptation when out of control could be a source of sin
and even violence against women.
THANK YOU: This bulletin is furnished to the Parish
without charge. The advertisements that appear completely defray
all publishing costs with which the church would otherwise be
burdened. Please patronize these sponsors as a thank you for their
kind generosity.

Homebound Eucharistic Ministry
The parish is in need of Eucharistic Ministers who are willing
to take the Eucharist to the homebound. Please consider this
ministry with great thought. It doesn’t take a large amount of
time and is so appreciated. If you are interested, please call

Also, if you are homebound and would like someone to bring
you the Eucharist or would just like someone to visit with you
once in a while, please call 330-492-0757.
All hospitals and nursing homes in our boundaries (Bethany,

volunteers who do this. If you know of someone in the
hospital or a nursing home that has not been visited, please
call 330-492-0757 Thank you!
