These items were created with left-over
hand dyed yarn as a practical
experiment of three similar, but different
slip stitch patterns.

Stitch Patterns:
Linen Stitch:
RS: K1, *sl 1 wyif, k1; repeat from * to end of row
WS: P2, *sl 1 wyib, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, p1.
Instructions:
With smaller needles, CO 31 sts. Work in St St for 6 rows. CO 4 sts at the end of the row. Work
1 row in Rev St. CO 4 sts at the end of the row. Switch to larger size needles. Work in Linen
Stitch for 3.25”. Work 3 rows of Rev St. Work in Linen Stitch for 3.25”. Switch to smaller
needles. BO 4 sts and continue remainder of the row in Rev St. BO 4 sts and continue
remainder of row in St St. Work 5 additional rows in St St. BO all remaining stitches.
Using yarn tails and tapestry needle, tack down the 6 rows of stockinette at either end in to the
wrong side of the fabric, folding at the row of Rev St and secure. Fold in half at the 3 rows of Rev
St and seam side edges. Insert 1 piece of the spring metal frame into each casing and insert pins
to secure.

Instructions:
CO 21 sts. Work in Half Linen Stitch for 2.25”. Work 2 rows of Rev St. Work in Half Linen Stitch
for 2.25”. Work 3 rows of Rev St. Work in Half Linen Stitch for 1”. Work 6 rows of Seed Stitch.
BO all sts in pattern.
Folding at the 2 rows of Rev St seam side edges. Create a tie by taking 1 yd of yarn and twisting
the ends until very tight. Hold the ends together allowing the yarn to ply. Knot ends together at
both ends and trim. Insert through the center stitch along the BO edge and secure with an
overhand knot. Weave in any remaining ends.

Instructions:
CO 20 sts. Work in Rev St for 5 rows. On the next row of Rev St, increase 6 sts evenly spaced.
Begin working in Diagonal Slip Stitch for 9”. Begin working 6 rows Rev St decreasing 6 sts
evenly spaced on the first row. BO all sts in pattern.
Folding in half lengthwise, seam side edges. Tack down the Rev St “roll” on the inside of the
case. Attach the swivel snap hook on one side, securing it in the center of the seam line. Weave
in any remaining ends.
