Director of Sports
National Federation of State High School Associations
The National Federation of State High School Associations announces a vacancy for
the position of Director of Sports, a newly created administrative position. The NFHS,
located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is the national leadership organization for high school
athletic and performing arts programs.
Required qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written
communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree preferred. The candidate should possess
administrative experience in sports and organizational skills in conducting meetings and
conferences.
Areas of responsibility: Staff liaison, interpreter and editor of the NFHS publications
for the sports of swimming and diving, water polo and softball; and workshop planner for
the NFHS Annual Meeting and the national conference for athletic administrators. Sport
responsibilities may change depending on NFHS staff experience.
