CINCINNATI YOUNG ARTISTS June 1 - 6, 2015 Alan Rafferty, Artistic Director Sarah Kim, Executive Director 847.571.8097 [email protected] 2015 Chamber Music Festival, June 1 - 6 Dear CYA Musicians and Parents, We would like to formally welcome you to the Cincinnati Young Artists Chamber Music Festival. Please note that this year we will again be holding all Festival activities at CCM. We are very pleased to inform you that over 50 talented young musicians ages 12 - 18 from as far away as Cleveland, Atlanta, Virginia, and Tennessee will be participating! Additionally, we have 3 Conservatory Fellowship groups made up of college students. •Final concerts will take place on FRIDAY, JUNE 5 at 7PM and SATURDAY, JUNE 6 at 1PM in Werner recital hall at CCM. All students are required to stay the full length of both concerts. There will be a reception to follow. Parents of students in town are kindly asked to bring a treat to share for the reception. •The Workshop will be Monday - Friday from 9AM - 5PM. On Thursday, students should plan to stay for a pizza party at 5PM and the faculty concert at 7PM. Friday evening dinner will be on your own before the student concert that evening. On Saturday, students will have rehearsals from 9AM-12PM followed by the final concert at 1PM. Students performing on Friday evening need only be at the Saturday Concert at 1PM. •Monday morning orientation will be held promptly at 9AM in Mary Emery Hall in the basement (Level P1) in room 1630. There will be signs to direct you. •Every student needs to bring their Chamber Music parts, folding stand, pencils, rockstops (cellists), rosin,and notebooks. Scores will be provided for each group the first day of the workshop. •Lunch will NOT be provided. Only students age 18 and older are allowed to leave campus for lunch but are encouraged to eat with the rest of the group. Students under 18 will have a monitored lunch in the Tangeman University Center student union. There are fast food options for purchase or you can bring your own lunch. Thursday, weather permitting, we will have pop-up performance at the USquare on Calhoun with lunch taking place there. •The pizza party will take place Thursday, June 4th at 5:00 pm. There is no cost for this, just bring your own beverage. This will be followed by our Faculty Performance at 7:00 pm in Werner Recital Hall. All students are required to attend and all parents are encouraged to attend. It is free and open to the public so invite friends and family as well! •Parking is available in the CCM garage for a fee or on street nearby. If you missed the email about parking passes, please respond immediately as we can get you a parking pass for the Calhoun Garage!
