There was no Master Board Meetings in December or January.
A Note From Your Master Board:
Several residents have asked questions regarding
Mayor Trivedi being allowed to attend the
monthly Aldermen meetings. The policy of the
Board is to let the two aldermen determine the
agenda, topics, and guests at those meetings.
The Board does reserve the right to review and
approve the proposed agenda for each meeting.
Remember to move your car off the street if
there is a two inch snowfall predicted or if that
much snow has already fallen. This will allow
the snowplowing to be completed effectively.
The Board is considering a ban on overnight
street parking (for the entire year, not just for
winter). The village of Lockport already has this
in effect. If you would like to voice your feelings
on this subject, please contact any Board member or put a note in the suggestion box.

LTHS East Campus on July 20-21, 2012. This 6pm6am, twelve-hour event donates all funds to the American Cancer Society.
There are four ways interested residents may help:
• Form a team and participate in relay
• Volunteer at the relay or help with planning
• Sponsor a team with a donation
• Donate directly to the Amer. Cancer Soc.
Cheryl Zacharias is a member of the Relay for Life
Lockport Committee; she is our contact person for
signing up a team and/or answering any questions:

Alderman’s Coffee Recap cont’d: 12/3/11
Mayor Trevedi
The mayor held a Christmas party to thank all city
staff and volunteers. He invited residents to attend
Coffee with the Mayor every 2nd Saturday morning
at NuVibe on Farrell next to Chase Bank.
There will be an emergency care center opening soon
at 159th and I-355 but it is not known what hospital
it will be affiliated with yet.
The mayor was pleased that the Council reached a
compromise on approving a 10 million bond issue
used for both road improvement and for water/sewer
extensions.
The administration will begin interviewing for an
assistant accountant very soon.
Residents then commented and asked several questions about levies and other council matters.
Robert Loewe, Fairmont Board of Education
Member
Rob spoke about the Fairmont Tax Levy Meeting,
held on Dec. 6th at Fairmont Elementary. He answered three questions about the proposed levy:
• Why is the Board advocating the increase
in the levy?
• Why haven’t conditions improved at Fairmont since we elected our residents to the
School Board?
• Why not consolidate?
Rob answered these questions followed by several
questions from residents. He prepared a written response to each question including comparison charts
from the State Report Card for several area school
districts. A copy of this packet is available in the
Club Library.

Activities - Hi Everyone!
A very merry, Merry Christmas to all. ‘Twas a few
nights before Christmas and all through Lago Vista
the residents are busy sharing the joys and love of
the season with family and friends. Everyone was so
charitable to S.O.S. Children’s Village and the FISH
Food Pantry.
The Activities Committee took a moment at the
Holiday Pizza/Birthday night to present our great
staff with a Christmas gift in thanks for all they do.
Our holiday party was a huge success with 98 residents attending. Everyone enjoyed good food, great
entertainment, raffles and fun with their neighbors.
Hopefully next year, we will have even more in attendance to enjoy this annual holiday cheer.
Grandparents Day brought many smiles to our grandchildren. Thanks to Michelle the Ceramics Instructor and her husband with his natural beard for coming dressed as Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus; they were
fabulous. Talk about fabulous, Marge Gofron, Patty
Ryan and Loretta Kelty, along with her granddaughter and friend, helped to make it a huge success.
Pizza/Birthday Night . . . WOW, what a turnout! A
big thanks to our one and only Fred Fares for helping
me engage the Elizabeth Seton Choir to come and
sing for us. They came in full force as a thank you to
Fred for his continued support and friendship.
The new year brings lots of new activities. Don’t
miss our January 7th – Welcome In the New Year
party. Thanks to Jean and Verne Lemke and their
committee, it is sure to be a great time.
Thursday, January 26th, Dr. Jose Penaherrera, will
once again join us for a lecture on Dementia at
6:30pm and Dr. Farrell will speak about Arthritis and
Total Knee Replacements at 7pm. Please be sure to
sign up at the desk.
Save the Date for February Events:
February 5th - Super Bowl Party
February 10th - Bingo
Well everyone, thanks for all of your help in making
Lago Vista a happy, fun and a wonderful place to
live and for your commitment to support our activities in the past and definitely in the future. God
Bless!
Thanks,
Carole Drew, Chair

they can talk! To keep Griffin from
leaving, they decide to teach him
the rules of courtship – animal

Vets Meeting
Thursday, January 12th
at 6:30 p.m.
All Lago Vista U.S. Veterans are invited to join
the Lago Vista Vets Club.
Meetings are held in the Ceramics room.
Discussion Leader: Marge Gofron
Note:
Meeting is the 2nd Monday this month
It starts almost by accident: the women who buy
their knitting needles and wool from Georgia's store
linger for advice, for coffee, for a chat and before
they know it, every Friday night is knitting night.
And as the needles click, and the garments grow, the
conversation moves on from patterns and yarn to life,
love and everything. These women are of different
ages, from different backgrounds and facing different
problems, but they are drawn together by threads of
affection that prove as durable as the sweaters they
knit. The Friday Night Knitting Club - don't you
want to join?
Books will be available at the Club desk. All newcomers welcome; bring your knitting!
