Homebound due to illness, Caroline hasn't been to school in months, but she is as quick and sardonic as Anthony is athletic, sensitive, and popular. When these two let down their guard and share their secrets, this seemingly mundane poetry project unlocks the much deeper mystery that brought them together. Circle Theatre is presenting the North Texas Premiere of I and You, which received the prestigious Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award as well as being a Susan Smith Blackburn finalist. Playwright Lauren Gunderson states “I and You is such a special play for me, and I immediately thought of Circle Theatre for it. After their tremendous work on Exit, Pursued By A Bear I knew they could bring out the humanity, the humor, and the heart of this deceptively simple story. I'm so honored to have these characters and all their secrets and truths in Rose's hands.” Circle’s production is directed by Krista Scott and features Nate Davis* (Anthony) and Mackie Louis* (Caroline). Circle Theatre’s production team members include Sarahi Salazar* (Stage Manager), Clare Floyd DeVries (Set Design), John Leach (Lighting Design), David H.M. Lambert (Sound Design), Sarah Tonemah (Costumes) and Hannah Law (Props). I and You is sponsored by Circle Theatre’s Board of Directors. As part of the National New Play Networks’ Continued Life program, I and You made its 3-city rolling world premiere in 2013-2014 at Marin Theatre Company (California), Olney Theatre (Maryland), and Phoenix Theatre (Indiana). South Coast Repertory (California) originally commissioned and developed the play. Photos are available upon request. I and You runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
