Brandon Ward
Ward earns
Eagle Scout
award by
producing drug
awareness film
Brandon Michael Ward,
son of Mike and Pamela
Ward, Church Hill, recently
received the Eagle Scout
award, earning the honor by
writing, producing and directing a drug awareness
film as his Eagle project.
Entitled 'The Trap" it
gives a realistic presentation
of the dangers of the use and
abuse of marijuana. The
film involved over 24 people,
including members of Troop
149 and others as actors and
crew.
Over 128 hours of combined time was needed to
complete the project. Ward
spent approximately six
hours planning the project
and ten hours carrying out
the project. It is being made
available as a resource to
Troop 149, First Baptist
Church, Church Hill, and
others.
Brandon's involvement
with scouting began with the
Tiger Cubs, the Cub Scouts
and Webelos. As a cub scout,
Brandon earned the Arrow of
Light award. During his
tenure in boy scouts, Brandon held positions in Troop
149 as Patrol Leader and
Quartermaster and was a
member of the Order of the
Arrow.
Troop 149 Scoutmaster
Dwight Hutson presented the
Eagle Scout award in a special Court of Honor on Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at ceremonies held at the First Baptist Church, Activities Building, Church Hill.
A graduate of DobynsBennett High School, Brandon is currently attending
the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville.
