The following activities and classes are offered for the enjoyment of Chickasaw residents and their
families. We are offering a wide range of activities for all ages, which we hope will meet the
recreational needs of the community.
Fees: Class fees are kept to a minimum. No refunds will be considered after the second meeting.
Registration: You may register for any activity at Charles E. McConnell Civic Center. To register by
telephone, please call 452-6462. Register early to ensure your place. If you would like to see something
special offered through the Recreation Department, please call Kathy Couey 452-6467
Resident card will be required for use of pool at a cost of $7.00 per person.
CHICKASAW CHILDREN’S COMMUNITY
EASTER EGG HUNT
Ages 12 years and under. Refreshments, Prizes, Inflatables, and
the Easter Bunny! Three age divisions. Bring Easter Basket and
camera to the Chickasaw Housing Authority Walking Trail (behind
the Post Office) on Saturday, April 4h at 10:00AM. Call for details.
COMMUNITY EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE
Chickasaw First Baptist Church will present a community Easter
Sunrise service on Sunday, April 5th at Chickasaw Amphi-theater
(behind pool) at 6:30AM. What a beautiful way to begin Easter
Sunday.
CHICKASAW POOL WORK DAY
A “Big Thank You” to Honeywell (UOP)! Hometown Solutions
working together with the City of Chickasaw to improve our City
Parks. Saturday, April 11th, make plans to attend a community
workday supporting Honeywell volunteers.
2ND ANNUAL CHICKASHABOGUE PADDLE
Saturday, April 25h, 2015 Paddlers will experience the nature and
wildlife of the Bogue of Chickasaw. Registration and Check-In begins
at 8:00AM, Paddle begins at 9:00AM. Registration / Release Form:
$25.00 per paddler, 4.5 miles. Entry includes: Lunch, Paddle T-shirt,
and guided tour of our hidden treasure. Contact: Kathy Couey

KIWANIS FREEDOM RUN

CHICKASAW CO/ED SOFTBALL REGISTRATION
Boys and girls ages 5 - 14 interested in playing Co-Ed Softball
should register soon. Must be Pre-Registered - 452-6462. Coaches
are being selected at this time. Call Kathy at 452-6467 if interested
in coaching.
COME TO THE FRONT PORCH
Ladies’ night for fellowship! Children’s programs offered so bring the
kids. Refreshments, Bible study, and mentoring opportunities. Meets
1st and 3rd Friday of every month at the Chickasaw Housing
Authority Community Room from 6 to 8 PM.
INTERESTED IN GED CLASSES
Getting your Alabama General Education Development (GED)
credential is an important move in securing a successful future or
accomplishing a life long dream. Please call Kathy for details

CHICKASAW KARATE CLASSES FOR YOUNG AND

KAYAK PADDLE
The 4th Saturday of each month, we will gather to paddle (kayaks
and canoes) Robbers Islands and venture new sites. Explore the

CHICKASAW SUMMER DAY CAMP (FULL OR PART TIME)
Begins Monday, June 1st. Plan to enroll your child in a fun-filled

The Spring Concert will be Monday, May 4th at 6:00PM on the lawn
of Murphy High School. Our very own Elizabeth Stewart will be
performing in the Symphonic Band. So let’s grab our lawn chair and
enjoy an award winning Spring Symphonic Band performance.

Home cooked meals for seniors and disabled in Chickasaw.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK
Come have your blood pressure checked each first Wednesday of
the month. At the Civic Center 452-6462 from 10 am - 12 noon.
EARLY BIRD BREAKFAST
The first Monday of each month the Recreation Department sponsors
an early bird breakfast. A homemade breakfast with warm smiling
faces. Time: 7:30 am / Place: Civic Center / Cost; $3.00
SENIOR GAME DAY WITH FRIENDS ON FRIDAY
Play a fun game of cards, monopoly, scrabble, or dominoes on 2nd
Friday of each month. Brain games such as these are essential to
maintain good brain health. The reason for this is that these games
enhance concentration, memory, and reasoning skills.

CHICKASAW SENIOR ADULT MASTER GAMES TEAM
Recreational and sporting events for those ages 50 and older are
encouraged to sign up. Call for events offered. Local and Statewide

in and around storm drains.
CHICKASAW POOL 2014 SCHEDULE
Opening Day: Saturday, May 30th.
Pool Hours: Monday - Saturday, 12:00 - 6:00PM
Rates: For use during open swim hours only (all ages $2.00).
(Non walkers Free) Private Parties: $70.00 under 40 swimmers.
$90.00 over 40 swimmers. Permit for private parties required. Season
passes: $40.00 individuals, $60.00 family of 2 / $80.00 family of 3-5,
see Kathy for additional family members. Must live in household.
Resident Policy: Proof of residence is required and photo ID / resident
card at a cost of $7.00 per swimmer. The card must be issued before
pool can be used. Head of Household must apply for resident card(s)
and prove Chickasaw residence for each member of household.
