Message from the Director, Rose Swidan
April showers bring May flowers….. and relief from another long winter.
I am so excited the spring is here – and I look forward to seeing all of you at the
center and enjoying this beautiful weather.
In March we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish luncheon complimented
by our talented musicians Sylvia Dubisky and Mary Ann Ryzner. Ladies thank
you for the entertainment and thank you to everyone who attended the luncheon and all of our March events – we are very fortunate to have such a beautiful
building and thankful to have so many residents at our events!
We have added a lot of new programs for the spring and are already working on
our summer schedule! April 6th is the first Detroit Tigers Home game – put on
your favorite Tiger t-shirt and come root on our Tigers at the Senior Center on
Opening Day and during every Tiger day game throughout the season.
It’s time to get training and practicing for the 2015 Senior Olympics. I have been
meeting with the planning committee throughout the winter and I look forward to the 25 different sports
you will have the opportunity to compete in this summer as we bring home the gold!
I will have more details in our May Communicator.
I wish everyone a happy and blessed Easter and look forward to having lots of fun with you this spring!!!
Love & Prayers,

Message from Mayor Burcroff
Wishes for a sunny spring to you and your family. New this month you will see
some Library programs added in the Communicator.
If you don’t already have a library card, make sure you get signed up for one,
it’s your ticket to many free activities at the Library.
Be sure to wear your Tigers gear as we root on our Detroit Tigers
for day games during the week at the Center.
I hope to stop by to watch a game with you.
Coming in May I’ll be hosting a special brunch for Mother’s Day. The Senior
Center walking club will be back next month as well. Walking is a great way to
stay fit. I will definitely see you over there to walk a couple laps myself.
Rose and our team have been working hard to offer new programs and opportunities, but as always,
your feedback is welcome so we can continue to expand our programs. Give us a call or stop by my
office for anything we may be able to assist with.
Sincerely,
LeRoy D. Burcroff, Mayor of Romulus
