Happy Fall
Fall to all,
As we all prepare for the upcoming winter, our thoughts turn to warmth and wool socks! Dreading making
another pair on size 1 needles, I decided to double the sock yarn. This gave me about a dk weight yarn and I
could use a size 4 needle. I was so excited; I whipped up a pair for my daughter in no time. The socks are
heavier than the fingering weight used single, but certainly light enough to wear under boots or as slippers.
If your sock yarn stash is getting away from you, this is a great way to use some up quickly and painlessly.
By the way, the two strands do not have to match and 2 - 100g balls is plenty for a large pair.
Holiday Sale
Sale
From Saturday, November 21 through Saturday,
November 28, we will have all kits on sale for
30% off. This includes Christmas stockings, big
needle throws, sweaters and everything in between
that we have in a kit.
Also on sale for that week will be all
knitting bags for 20% off. We have
beautiful new bags from Atenti,
Offhand designs and Della Q.
Come see the selection, many
can also be used as a handbag
for everyday use.
Our charity trunk has grown over the last few weeks as
we make room for all of our winter knitting at the
shop. The prices have been cut on many of the
sweaters and all are priced to go. Each garment is
hand knit from the highest quality yarns. All
proceeds from the sale of these sweaters will be
donated to charity.
Gift ideas
We are now carrying Knitters Blocks. These foam pieces
come in a bag of 9 and they can be put together in
any formation. The foam is covered with a low pile
carpet so your knitting will not be damaged. The
package also comes with rust proof t-pins for all of
your blocking needs.
We have a new yarn called Milli Colori Big that can be
used to make a fabulous scarf. Only one ball and
size 13 needles make a quick gift for someone
special. The instructions are right on the label.
We also have samples of many different scarves, hats
and other small knitted items that won’t take until
next year to finish!
Shawl pins or closures are in stock
and ready to be worn. The
materials range from hand fired
glass to wood to resin in styles
that fit every knitter. If purses
are your forte, the handles can
make or break the look. We have purse handles in
various lengths and many different materials.
On the non-knitted side, from Lantern moon and a
women’s cooperative in Vietnam, we have some
really lovely silk scarves. They are woven brocade
on one side and solid color with exquisite
embroidery on the other.
If all else fails, we always
have gift certificates in
any denomination!
