Clean Cities Atlanta Petroleum Reduction Program Fact Sheet Project Objectives To increase the use of alternative fueled vehicles and advanced technology vehicles as a means to reduce U.S. dependence on imported petroleum, increase fuel economy and improve emissions. To install infrastructure that supports alternative fuel vehicles. Funding & Management The project is largely funded via a $14.9 million grant awarded by the Department of Energy as part of the America Recovery and Reinvestment Act and $24.5 million in local cost share. Grant funding is administered by Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The project is sponsored by Clean Cities Atlanta and managed by the Center for Transportation and the Environment.
