posted to Gruber’s website.
Be in the KNOW!
Get timely updates on:
upcoming or impromptu sales,
special guests,
unexpected visitors,
class/club announcements,
new product arrivals and
inspiring show-n-tell . . .
If you don't have Facebook we are checking into other
ways to share our updates.
If you have requested a printed
newsletter it will be mailed
approximately one week after the
electronic version is available.
If you would like to switch your
printed newsletter to an
electronic email (and print your
own) let us know at:
[email protected]
Note that when you provide your name and address on the back of your
fabric punch card we add your information to our store’s mailing list.
Winter Weather
It’s that time of year when the weather outside can be
(shall we say) unpredictable. If the road conditions are
questionable, please call to be sure we are open
before you make the trip.
NOTE: if you are already here and the weather becomes
treacherous let your loved ones know, they can rest easy, we
aren’t letting you go home. You will be our guest at the Retreat
Center until it is safe to travel.
Gruber’s - what a glorious place to get snowed in!!
What did Nelsen Mandela and Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games) have in common? Both
of these individuals were humbled to lead the masses. One individual did this in real life
the other in fantasy, but both did it in magnificent ways to hopefully push us to do our
best or at least try to make life better for others.
In quilting we have rising stars that inspire us to do better. We have Sherri McConnell,
author of “A Quilting Life”, coming for a visit in January. Sherri can do exactly that,
move you beyond where you are. She has one best selling book under her belt with
another on the way. Sherri also has a huge blog following, thus introducing a very real
way we now communicate, instantly, and also making our world much smaller and more
connected. I hope you can make it, what a great way to kick-start a new year.
We are starting a “Lunchtime with the Masters” quest speaker series (no not golf).
Our first master is Sherri Falls for This & That Pattern Company. You will enjoy Sherri’s
wonderful real life success story of her business of pattern designs to major seller in the
world. Sherri will follow her talk with a hands-on class. (See Page 10 for details.)
We have found our customers really like to learn a lot in a short amount of time.
Thus we are hosting several retreats this winter - our first will teach you to knit or
crochet in one weekend. We feed you, teach you a new art and send you home having
met some new friends along the way. These are definitely three ingredients for success:
learn, eat and network with a-like individuals.
If you have not connected with us on Facebook, I invite you to do so. We have last
minute events that pop up and Facebook is the most efficient way to connect with a lot of
people quickly and with instant response.
I wish you the straightest of stitches this year with the least use of the
ripper, but enjoy all of your journeys whatever they may be.
Piece,
Hello,
For those of you who may not know me, I'm Sue's oldest daughter, Theresa. I work in
the shop as it’s full time manager. I have grown up in the shop and know that many of
you have seen me grow up.
Prior to coming back to Gruber's, I graduated college from Bemidji State and taught
preschool in Madison, Wisconsin. I've been back for over four years, and love it!
I can't wait for you to see all the fun things we have planned for this next
couple of months! There are so many exciting new projects to start that we had to
space them out to not overwhelm you (or us).
Maybe it's a good thing winter decided to start with a bang, lots of cold and snow gives
us plenty of reason and time to stay inside and quilt!
Reminder, if you are from “out of town”, and are taking a class, you
are welcome to stay at our retreat center for $20/one night.
Some restrictions do apply. We must have room at the retreat center
and your class must have an instructor.
