SPONSOR BENEFITS THE EVENT The OCC’s Annual Climate Change Research Symposium brings together stakeholders from a wide range of sectors to advance climate change research in Ontario. We provide an avenue to researchers and practitioners to come together, share ideas, and exchange knowledge while recognizing the impacts of climate change and extreme weather on our communities. THE SESSIONS This year’s conference intends to provide researchers and practitioners with a venue to actively discuss the critical importance of cross-disciplinary approaches to adaptation. A number of dynamic speakers will discuss the critical role that the business sector has to play in responding to climate change. They will also highlight projects that showcase synergies between the natural and social sciences and demonstrate how art and activism can be used as a bridge between science and society. THE POSTER COMPETITION The Graduate Student Poster Competition is a vital component of the annual symposium. Each year, we invite graduate-level students in the natural and social sciences to submit poster presentations with a focus on climate change adaptation and/or mitigation. We have dedicated time during the symposium so that students can interact with attendees and use the opportunity to share details about their research projects, potential application(s), and lessons learned. - Complimentary ad space in program booklet Full Page 1/2 Page 1/4 Page - Complimentary reception tickets & registration 5 4 3 2 - Full-Page Sponsor Greeting in Program - Recognition by Master of Ceremonies - Acknowledgement in media advisory - Logo display on digital event signage - Recognition in OCC newsletter & post-event e-mail - Free standing event signage (3 ft x 7 ft) - Logo recognition on event website NETWORKING This symposium aims to provide attendees the opportunity to interact with other climate professionals throughout the day so that they can broaden their professional network. By providing these opportunities, we hope to spark conversations about important research questions that attendees may have and begin discussions about how they can be addressed. Ultimately, we want to help develop and strengthen relationships between attendees so that they can increase resilience to climate change in their communities.
