I came across some black cut worm in one corn field and we did have some frost damage from the couple of cool mornings in late May. Crops by now should have grown out of any damage. Tissue sampling is available and is a good way to make sure plants are getting needed nutrients. Alfalfa stands that are a little weak should be watched for stem rot and other diseases as they recover from the first cutting. They can take a toll on weaker stands. We do have a good supply of early day grain seed corn and longer day seed corn for silage if needed. With the spring season starting early, things will be at differing stages of growth which can extend the window of opportunity for problems to arise Heading into the summer growing season, keep an eye on your crops so that we can head off any potential problems. Additional weed flushes and extended insect feeding are the two primary vectors that we need to watch for. We will be out checking fields on a regular basis and if you think you may have a problem give us a call. Thank you all again for your business and we look forward to checking in on you through the summer months.
