Michael’s Dairy Attendants, Shift Supervisors, Assistant Managers and Store Manager Michael’s Dairy and Mitchell College are looking for customer service minded individuals to spend the summer scooping a bit of history to the local New London community. Michael's Dairy has been in operation for over sixty years and has been located adjacent to Mitchell College since the founding of the institution in 1938. Attendants are responsible for serving customers at the Dairy, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that each guest has a memorable (and a bit nostalgic) experience. Shift Supervisors will manage the shifts and co-lead the operations of the Dairy with the Assistant Manager and Store Manager. Basic uniforms (shirts) are provided and the season runs from Mid-April through October. Preference will be given to job applicants who can work the full season, though partial-season applicants are encouraged to apply. Employees must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Responsibilities and Duties: Greet guests as they enter the Dairy and offer samples and/or flavor suggestions. Take customer ice cream orders and serve items as requested. Handle payments and give accurate change as necessary using a cash register. Provide “above and beyond” service to each and every customer. Maintain cleanliness of the Dairy and all serving/prep areas Follow food handling health, safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines Monitor stock and ensure manager/shift supervisor is kept informed of any shortages or issues. Other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience (All Positions): High School diploma and experience in food service preferred but not required. Must be at least 16 years of age. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to follow established food service protocols. Basic math skills necessary. Required Education and Experience (Managerial): HS diploma required, BA/BS degree in a related field is preferred Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in food service, food sales and/or hospitality management required. Excellent organizational, communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Computer competency in Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license necessary.
