Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Noteworthy The Upper and Mid Ohio have crested; water levels have fallen below action stages but water will remain above pool stage this week. Lower Ohio is expected to continue to have high water this week. High flows/water on the West canal at Morgan City, Bayou Sorrel, Colorado Locks and Brazos locks are slowing transits thru those areas. Calcasieu Lock will be closed 4/21 to 5/4 from 0700 to 1700 everyday. Minor delay are expected. Bayou Sorrel Locks will be closed from 15 July to 15 September for dewatering operations, repairs and maintenance to the lock. We will be able to transit the Algiers lock but significant delays are expected during the closure for barges going to and from the West Canal due to the increase in volume through this lock. Potential closure of the Montgomery Point lock from August 24 to September 30. This closure if it occurs will shut off navigation to the Arkansas River.
