Noteworthy

Illinois River, currently forecasting snow this weekend of 1-3”, temperatures to drop early next week.
Navigation is near normal

Lock 52, conditions dependent will closed as early as 2/3 for a 12-72 hour complete river closure for
repairs to the missing wickets found at the last raising of the dam.

Lock 27 main chamber will have the following closure: January 31 from 0600-1800 daily. All other
scheduled closures have been postponed.

Old I270 Bridge demolition UM190.8, blasting set for 2/3 with a 24 hour river closure to clean up
debris.

Thebes Rock removal 2014-2015 will not start until Cape Girardeau gage reaches 11.5’ or below.
Forecast calls for Cape to remain steady at 12’ for the next week.

Winfield Lock KA 31 main chamber will be closed from 2/20 to 4/30.

Lower Mississippi at mile 634 will be closed daily from 06:00-18:00 for channel revetment work until
April 1. Rock was delivered last night and contractors are working today.

Industrial Lock is currently schedule to close starting mid July early Aug for 90-120 days, depending on
river conditions.

Weather Note
A cold front will move through the watershed tomorrow/
Sunday. Snow/rain is expected over the region north of
Cairo and rain is predicted south of Cairo. There is the
potential for heavy snow to fall tomorrow night/Sunday
across the region from Cairo to Dubuque and over the Ohio
Valley.
Another cold front will move through the watershed Tuesday
night/Wednesday with light/moderate rain/snow expected
during its passage.
