Schematic Design and Site Plan Presentation

The Hauppauge Public Library Board of Trustees invites the
community to come and see the preliminary site design and
schematic drawings for the permanent home in Hidden Pond Park.
These drawings are the result of three community meetings that
set the purpose, goals and conceptual designs in place for the
design team. Since the last community meeting on July 27 the
design team has met three more times in addition to weekly calls
to develop the design. The Board looks forward to your comments,
questions and suggestions on where the design is to date.

Once again, the Hauppauge Public Library
will be accepting donations of new mittens,
gloves, hats and scarves to be hung on
our “Giving Tree”. These donations will
be given to Long Island families in need
this winter. We will accept donations up
until the end of December. Thank you in

We have updated our library card and now offer
six different designs for you to choose from.

Please note: If you are attending a volunteer opportunity to fulfill a specific requirement for school or another organization, please check with your teacher or advisor to make sure
they will accept the community service hours. Also, we occasionally take pictures in our programs and may post the pictures in our newsletter or on our website. In signing up for
programs, you agree to let us use any pictures we take for publicity purposes only. If you don’t want your picture used, please notify a librarian.

that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature.

Suffolk County have been reading and we need your input.

Battle of the Books for High Schoolers is back! Read the three
official “Battle” books, remember as many details as you can
from them, and compete in a fun trivia contest against other
Suffolk County libraries for the title of Battle Champs. This year’s
titles are: Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi, The Name of the
Star by Maureen Johnson, and Divergent by Veronica Roth. The
practice meetings are at the library and the final Battle is Friday,
March 28th from 6-9pm @ Brentwood Public Library.
