Join us Friday, October 4 for a two hour reception with Skacel CEO, Karin Skacel & Chuck Wilmesher, the Director of New Product Research & Development. Karin & Chuck will talk about their new Magalog & their free pattern designs as well as their products and the Fiber Factory. Karin has been working in the family business since 1993, and she is now CEO of Skacel, the company her parents started over 26 years ago. Skacel distributes yarns and the addi line of knitting needles and crochet hooks to independent yarn shops throughout North America. Karin’s interests are varied and have followed creativity, whether it is in glass, fabric, or fiber, and color has always been paramount! Chuck learned to knit in the summer of 2007, and his strong passion for all things fiber turned into his career nearly 3 years ago when he joined the Skacel team as Director of New Product Research & Development. Chuck is responsible for selecting new yarns and other products carried by Skacel. In addition, Chuck has been instrumental in producing The Fiber Factor, the knitting design competition put on by Skacel. Karen Skacel Skacel does more than provide us with Addi Turbo’s, Lace & Sock Rocket, which are the BEST NEEDLES in the world, they do yarn and fiber as well. We will have garments for most of the yarns we stock which makes the yarn come alive. SimpliWorsted, Kenzie, CoBaSi, Pur, & Kid Seta. Skacel is the creative genius and sponsor of The Fiber Factor which provides a stage for knitwear designers very similar to Project Runway.
