Sat. March 29th
The Wisconsin Spin-In 2014 will take place this year
at the Waukesha Expo Center in the "Forum" building. This has always traditionally been a one day

Purchased for a course in fiber blending with Deb Menz at
Siever's on Washington Island. Never used after class. The
belt was taken off so the belt has not been under tension
while stored.
Called Pat Green today to help value it. They said $700,t
present value. I would be fine with getting $500.

Linda Peeters has the following information
about the Bjorklunden Weekend.
“This is the getaway weekend in Door County with ladies from Lawrence (as well as
many who are not).
It is open to anyone, and you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, i.e.,
bring your wheels and spin all weekend, or
whatever.
You are free to participate in any of the
group activities, but not required.
You can fit up to 4 in a room, so that makes
the room $15 a night!
If anyone has any questions, have them
contact me.” Linda

Fiber tips & tricks
Here are a few of the tips & tricks our members shared at the January meeting. If you’d like your tip shared in the next newsletter, please email Grace at [email protected].
Peg Mathews - If you scorch white wool while pressing - dab with hydrogen peroxide. Rinse by dabbing with cloth dampened
with water. Remember that hydrogen peroxide is a bleach and cannot be left on the wool. This has saved part of a historical;
uniform that had a lot of handwork. It is so much better to use a press cloth like an old men's hankie to protect the wool and
prevent the problem of scorching!
Linda Peeters / Karen Grignon - When joining wool, split each piece down about 4", cut half off, put them together and
"spin" between your hands to join, and continue knitting. you don't have to weave in ends!:)
Neda Ambrosius - You can track your spinning history by creating a motif of some kind ie: a flower or sheep, out of every
yarn you spin. It’s a fun way to look back at the variety of yarns you have spun. The motifs can later become part of a larger
project.
