COLCHESTER AND EAST ESSEX BADMINTON FEDERATION
ANNUAL TOURNAMENT
The Tournament will be held at the University of Essex, Wivenhoe Park
on Sunday 31st May 2015
The open mixed doubles and veterans events will be held on Sunday 31st May at the
University of Essex Sports Centre. Depending on the number of entries the events will
be either a round robin or a knock-out event. In the case of the latter there will be a
plate event for first time losers.

CONDITIONS
 the tournament is open to all members of clubs in Essex and to members of clubs in
Suffolk within a 25 mile range of Colchester
 the committee reserves the right to refuse any entrant without assigning any reason
and also to limit the number of entries to any event
 the decision of the committee in all matters will be final
 the draw will be seeded
 each entrant should submit an entry form; the cost of entry is applicable to each
entrant (and not per pair). Cheques should be made payable to Colchester and
East Essex Badminton Federation
 feathered shuttlecocks will be used
 substitutions will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion
of the Tournament Committee
 all competitors must report to the Tournament Secretary’s table on arrival
 any competitor not ready when called may be scratched
 holders of the trophies will be responsible for their return to the Tournament
Committee, in a clean condition before the finals.

The veterans’ events will be handicapped according to age. The handicap will be the combined age of
the two players minus 80 divided by 4. For example a pair of 40 year olds would play off scratch, a pair
of a combined age of 120 would receive a 10 start in each game.
