Join Gale Zucker, knitwear photographer and co‐author
(Shear Spirit and Craft Activism), for a fun, fast and 99%
jargon free slide show full of juicy photos and lots of advice
to make your photos fabbier!
Wish your photos of yarn and knits were swoon‐worthy?
Want to feel more confident with your camera in hand? This
presentation will set you in the right direction.
Gale will present an illustrated talk of shooting tips to
improve your photography of fiber, yarn, knits, people and
the world around you. Culled from her longer workshops,
she'll share easily understandable tips about making color
behave, composition, making the best use of light,
backgrounds, and how to get real people to look wonderful
modeling your FO's. It’s a little bit of everything, with ideas
you can use right away. She'll share behind‐the‐scenes info
on how a knitwear photo shoot gets put together, and will
make it clear why her alter ego name is She Shoots Sheep
Shots. Gale will be signing books and will have copies
available for sale.

APRIL 2014
From the President . . . .
The weather is finally warming up and we can begin to think about our spring
knitting projects. We are off to a good start with all of the wonderful, colorful yarn
we purchased last month from Blue Heron Yarns. Be sure to bring your finished
items to share with your fellow members.
Our April meeting should be most enlightening,
enlightening as Gail Zucker shows us how to take
better photos of all the beautiful items we are constantly knitting. What better way
to keep a record of all our knitting projects than through the use of beautiful
photographs that we can make and be proud of. Perhaps we can create a
Westchester Knitting Guild Album!
We continue to receive the charity items that you have knitted, more from Dorothy
on that, but in the meantime a heart felt thank you to all of you who participated.
Happy Knitting,
J. Evelyne Liebmann
AFGHANS FOR AFGHANS UPDATE
At our February Guild meeting we collected 24 pairs of mittens, 13 hats, 16
pairs of socks and one sweater. At the March meeting we collected 12 pairs of
mittens, three hats and six pairs of socks. Nine members have yet to hand in
their promised items and, as I always say, “it’s never too late”. If you are having
difficulty completing your project for whatever reason, just bring the yarn back
to the next meeting. We’ll finish it and I know you will donate in the future. I
