Learn from the nation’s best…
Herkimer Soccer Day Camp will be held
July 6-10 at Herkimer College for kids
ages 6 to 15. The purpose of the camp is to
teach technical and tactical soccer
strategies while having fun.
The camp caters to all ages and skill
levels. Campers will have the opportunity
to learn foot skills as well as play in small
and large-sided games on Wehrum
Stadium and the practice grass fields.
There will be a cool-down period in the
pool at the end of each day. The cost is
$130 per participant.

Pepe Aragon has been the head coach for the

During his tenure at
Herkimer, Aragon has amassed an overall
record of 315-28-14 and has been named
National Soccer Coaches Association of
America (NSCAA) National Coach of the Year
(1999, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2011), Region III
Coach of the Year (1999, 2005, 2011, 2013) and
Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year
(2004, 2005, 2011, 2013). He has coached 60
NSCAA and NJCAA All-Americans and seven
NSCAA National Players of the Year. He
currently serves as Vice-President of the
NJCAA Men’s Soccer Association and
President of the Region III Men’s Soccer
Association. In 2007, Aragon was recognized by
the Blind Men and Criers, an organization of
referees and coaches, with the Lew Andreas
Award for outstanding
contributions and service to his community.
In 2008, Aragon received the prestigious SUNY
Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty
Service. Coach Aragon was inducted as a player
into the 2008 NJCAA National Soccer Hall of Fame.
He received his award in Dallas, Texas at the
NJCAA National Final Four banquet Friday,
November 7th.

Aragon is also a full-time Health and Physical
Education Associate Professor at Herkimer. He has a
B.S. in Physical Education from Bowling Green
State University and a master’s degree in Health
Education from SUNY Cortland. Coach Aragon
resides in New Hartford with his wife Anastacia,
daughter Natalia and son Pepe Jr.

Age at camp
A native of Binghamton, NY, Aragon was an
NSCAA All-American at Binghamton High School
in 1989. He then attended Herkimer College where
he was a NSCAA and NJCAA All-American as a
freshman and sophomore and led the Generals to a
national third place finish. Aragon received an
athletic scholarship to NCAA Division I Bowling
Green State University where he was a two-time All
Mid-American Conference selection and helped lead
the Falcons to their first NCAA tournament
appearance in over 20 years.
After graduating from college, Aragon signed a
professional contract with the Canton Invaders of the
National Professional Soccer League, playing one
season. He then signed a contract the following year
with the Cleveland Caps of the U.S.I.S.L. before
accepting the head coaching position at Herkimer.
Aragon was named to the NJCAA All-Century
Team along with former U.S. National Team coach
and current MLS coach of the LA Galaxy Bruce
Arena. In 2002, he captained the Central Empire
State Open men's soccer team to a gold medal.
Aragon currently holds a NSCAA national coaching
license.
