Fellowship Application Guidelines
The Al and Val Rosenstrauss Research Fellowships are named in honour of the late Al Rosenstrauss
OAM and his wife, Val, for their contribution to the work of the Foundation over a period of more
than 28 years.
The Fellowships to be awarded in the 2015 calendar year are prestigious awards that will provide
funding of $80,000 per year, commencing in January 2016, for four years. Key conditions associated
with these awards include requirements that the successful applicants or Fellows must be active in
the areas of research supported by the Foundation and that the Fellow's host Institution must agree
to commit $20,000 additional funding per annum to support their Fellow in the research endeavours
approved for the Al and Val Research Fellowship awarded to that person.
The Al & Val Rosenstrauss Fellowship is targeted at candidates who are establishing the credentials
for a long career in research.
Applicants wishing to apply for the fellowship on a part-time basis will be considered. In such cases,
the fellowship recipient will receive a pro-rata payment over the four year period of the fellowship.
Applications open: 1 April 2015
Applications close: 5pm EST, 30 April 2015 (Late applications will not be accepted)
Funding decisions will be made by the Foundation’s directors at a meeting to be held in August 2015.
