 Have fun. Meet people.
Coralua wants to create a relax atmosphere where all participants, singers,
conductors and staff have fun during the whole choral week, an intensive week
where we all learn, exchange and enjoy together communicating through our
common language of music. From our staff to the participants, via our invited
conductors, the international experience is ensured!
Activities - Coralua 2015
Coralua 2015 has three activities for all participants attending the festival:
● Workshops​- choir seminars in Trondheim
● Singing Tour​to the UNESCO village of Røros
● Concerts​in Trondheim and Røros
Schedule - Coralua 2015
The festival starts ​
Saturday 22nd at 9h30 in the morning. There will be a possible
parade in the city center on Friday 21st afternoon with the choirs which are
already in town.

Tango from Argentina! A universe of rhythms
and moods. The music reflects the cultural
melting pot that occurred in Buenos Aires and
Montevideo at the end of the 1800s, when
large population flows from Spain and Africa
settled in these areas. Néstor Andrenacci
provides an insight into tango music universe.
Keywords are tango, milonga, candombe and
Río de la Plata waltz, in beautiful
arrangements for mixed choir. Are you ready?
Federico García Lorca is one of the most
significant Spanish poets from the 1900s.
Poetry has inspired many composers, both in
Spain and various parts of South America. His
poems reminiscent of flamenco and Spanish
folk soul. In this workshop Josep Prats focuses
on arrangements for mixed voices based on
the passionating texts by García Lorca. Have
you ever read or heard about them? Come to
Trondheim and discover more about it!

When Basilio Astúlez welcomes to attend a
seminar for female choir, one can expect a
real boost! The ingredients of his ​Quaver
Salad​come from five different continents, but
have a common denominator: movement &
fun. The journey to pick them up goes from
the exotic sounds to the tropical notes
meeting surprising and exciting elements.

Valvanne have collected music from around
the world which she will share with you.
What is special with it? All the songs she
discovered touch the heart and put the body
in motion! Here you are challenged to play
and improvise, and probably you will find
that your voice has more facets than you

With its unique enthusiasm and creativity
Sanna Valvanne coaxes real joy of singing and
playfulness in children she works with. You
see how their little faces lit up, their eyes
sparkles and their hearts open for the music!
Sanna has understood that people from
different parts of the world can communicate
with each other through universal music and
intuitive language, and she knows how to
take the most from it!
Basilio Astúlez teaches children different
melodies from countries around the
Mediterranean. The colorful and energetic
music has traveled through the Gulf Stream
up to Norway, to make children from all
around the world be able to meet and learn
something new together! Rythms and music
from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Albania
will make children dance and remember
this experience for a long time!

As a novelty for 2015, there will be a singing tour which consists on a 2 days journey to
the world heritage norwegian village of Røros and a concert on its beautiful (and
acoustically fantastic) church.
● Trip from Trondheim and return
○ Departure from Trondheim: Wednesday 26th (morning)
○ Arrival to Trondheim: Friday 28th (morning)
● Cultural visits:
○ Guided tour in Røros
○ Smelthytta - Museum of the mines
○ Olavsgruva

To participate to Coralua 2015, you need to:
1. Submit the choir’s application ​

2. When the organizers confirm the possibility of participation to the choir
(there is a limited number of participants!), ​
send a bank proof ​
of the first
payment ​
before the 15th of April 2015.

● All applications are reviewed by order of receipt​
! The organization
recommends to register as early as possible.
● The participation of a choir is confirmed when the first payment is received
by the organizers.
