VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES - Cornwall Music Education Hub

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are seeking fantastic volunteers to help make iOrchestra a reality! We need you to get involved
and bring your skills and expertise to support MusicLab, RE-RITE and Live Concert elements of the
iOrchestra project.
PROJECT OUTLINE
iOrchestra consists of three principal components: MusicLab, RE-RITE and Live Concerts:

MusicLab
MusicLab is a new pop-up digital installation touring to communities across Plymouth, Torbay and
Cornwall. Using cutting edge digital technology and innovative interactive design, MusicLab will
offer a series of hands-on musical games and interactions, designed to put the visitor in the shoes of
a composer, performer, producer, and conductor.
MusicLab will be visiting communities in each region in the weeks leading up to and during RE-RITE.
There will be opportunities for schools and community groups to sign-up to curated visits of
MusicLab and open visit times for the whole community.
MusicLab will be touring to locations around Plymouth (14 April – 10 May), Torbay (12 May – 7 June)
and Cornwall (9 June – 12 July) and open 10am – 6pm. Admission is free of charge.

RE-RITE
At the heart of iOrchestra are the Philharmonia Orchestra's award-winning digital “virtual orchestra”
installations, starting in 2014 with RE-RITE.
Based on composer Igor Stravinsky’s fantastic ballet score The Rite of Spring, RE-RITE is a large-scale
walk-through experience that offers visitors the chance to step inside an orchestra, to feel the
sensation of being among more than 100 expert musicians and experience the thrill of walking
amongst them, via giant projections, surround sound and interactive stations dotted throughout the
installation. Admission is free of charge.
RE-RITE will be coming to:
