Volunteers Needed
- The Terry Fox Trail
Enhancement Project is an
exciting new initiative that will
see all P.E.I. native species of
trees and shrubs planted along
the perimeter of the existing
2.2km walking trail at Eliot
River School.
- Each species will have it's
own signage which will not only
identify each species, but will
detail it's characteristics,
importance and history. The
completed project will provide
extensive educational and
environmental opportunities for
all to enjoy along with greatly
enhancing the aesthetics of our
showpiece property.
- It is our intention to actively
involve the students of Eliot
River School in the planting
and initial caring for the trees
and shrubs,thus providing a
wonderful educational
opportunity for them and
encouraging a sense of
ownership and environmental
stewardship.
- Currently, a small group of
individuals is working on
putting together the concept
plans and we would like to
expand on this group to
encourage a variety of ideas
and to enhance the success of
the initiative.
- If you would like to join our
group you are asked to
contact; Bill Hogg at 902 566
