Famous for making the quintessential English teddy bear,
Merrythought has been hand-crafting the finest soft toys in the
Ironbridge factory since 1930. Each Merrythought teddy bear is
exquisitely designed and created using luxury fabrics such as mohair
and alpaca, and is finished with a carefully hand-embroidered nose to
give a truly individual personality. Only the perfect soft toy features
the iconic Merrythought black and gold label on the right paw pad –
the sign of great British craftsmanship and over eighty years of teddy
bear making heritage.

My Merrythought Bear
The perfect first Merrythought teddy bear, this
friendly chap is crafted from a luxury woven
plush and is bean-filled making him wonderfully
cuddly. Featuring the famous Merrythought
wishbone embroidered subtly on his wool felt
paw pad, this classic bear wears a scarlet red
satin ribbon tied in a bow.
This teddy bear is non-jointed.

Chester
Oxford
A recent addition to Merrythought’s traditional range, Chester is
truly irresistible. Made from a wavy long grey mohair with wool
felt paw pads, he has little tufty ears and a trimmed muzzle which
accentuates his long smiley face. His tummy is softly stuffed with
beans, making him especially tactile, and a cream satin ribbon is
neatly tied around his neck.
Modern in design yet traditionally made, Oxford is
an endearing fellow crafted in a velvety-soft straw
coloured mohair with light brown velvet paw pads and
a soft bean-filled tummy. Finished with a stunning navy
blue satin ribbon and making his debut in 2014.

Binky Bunny & Freddy Fox
These delightful characters from the English countryside will brighten up any
bedroom or family home. Binky is an adorable little bunny made from a sparse
grey mohair and featuring a fluffy white mohair bob-tail. Freddy is a new design
for 2014 and is crafted from white and copper coloured mohair, proudly
displaying a wonderful white-tipped ‘brush’ tail. Each fully-jointed soft toy has
wool felt paw pads and is finished with a creamy satin ribbon tied in a bow
around the neck.
These wonderfully patriotic characters boast all the charm of a
classic London Gold, yet are adorned in beautifully made wool
felt Beefeater and Guardsman outfits. Each uniform is fully
removable and finished with a co-ordinating Tudor or ‘Bearskin’
hat - true British icons and entirely handmade in England.

Jackfield
A vintage style teddy bear with a sweet personality,
Jackfield is beautifully created in a subtle putty
coloured sparse mohair, with nut brown wool felt
paws, and finished with a burgundy satin ribbon.
London Blonde
This wonderfully cuddly teddy bear is
made from a beautiful wavy blonde mohair
with nut brown wool felt paw pads and a
luscious, bottle-green velvet ribbon.

A flagship Merrythought character, the
Cheeky Bear continues to be avidly collected
across the globe. This traditional version is
based on the original 1950s design, is made
from soft golden mohair and features the
Cheeky trademark of a jingle bell in each ear.

London Curly Gold
Shrewsbury
A cousin of Merrythought’s classic ‘London Gold’ teddy bear, this
traditional bear’s wavy light gold mohair gives each version a particularly
endearing expression and tactile feel. Nut brown wool felt paw pads and
a royal blue satin ribbon are the perfect accompaniment.
Shrewsbury is crafted from a wavy deep gold mohair and
has a most appealing personality, complemented with milk
chocolate wool felt paw pads and a forest green satin
ribbon. A timeless bear that is the perfect marriage of
quintessential design and life-like character.
Larger size (18”) is also available with internal ‘growl’ or music box

made in England exclusively for 2014, offers
small editions of gorgeous jointed teddy bears
which have each been hand-crafted from the

Dinkie Little Princess
Our adorable ‘Dinkie’ bears have been given a regal
transformation for 2014, with each featuring a shiny
gold crown embroidered onto their left foot pad.
Little Prince wears a beautiful royal blue velvet sash
complemented with gold tassel and Little Princess
wears a matching cloak with gold satin lining and gold
tassel. These two adorable characters are real ‘pieces
de resistance’ for the Dinkie devotee.

bear, featuring doleful felt-backed eyes
and a wide hand-embroidered smile.
His outer mohair is a mossy-brown
shade and perfectly paired with mustard
coloured velvet paw pads and matching
organza ribbon.
Every way you look this gorgeous teddy bear is just
asking to be taken home. Designed in the style of
a real-life brown bear, Orlando is crafted from a
sparse gold mohair with chocolate brown backing
which shows through beautifully on his neatly

early 20th century Alpha Farnell design, regarded
by many as the original English teddy bear. Made
