We provide innovative teaching
to help you think like a lawyer
We are an established law university but we have a
very modern approach. Unlike other universities which
focus solely on academic learning and analysis, our
courses really bring the law to life. We’ll put you into
typical and real-life scenarios that a young lawyer
might face so that you really start to think like a lawyer.
You’ll work on real-world case studies, participate in
small group workshops and role plays, and work with
real documents. This will help you understand how
the law works in reality, both as a lawyer or generally
in business.
English law is trusted around the world
English law is increasingly chosen to govern many
international commercial arrangements due to a
number of factors:
· English law is seen as predictable and transparent
· The English court system is respected throughout
the world
· London is seen as the preferred seat for arbitration.
As a system that offers world-class legal advice
along with the flexibility required for commerce,
English law is often the first choice for international
business around the world.
We have powerful connections
Because we are a specialist university with an established
reputation for expertise, we attract partnerships with the
best law firms in the world. We work with over 90 of the
top 100 UK law firms, and with four out of the top five
global firms to develop their employees. Undergraduates
benefit directly from this because our partners, including
legal employers of all types, come to us first when they
are recruiting.
The University of Law works with a number of
prestigious law firms, including:
