December 2011
Dear Parents and Students,
Oh my goodness...it’s December! Although the weather doesn’t tell that story, we are well underway
for our recital plans. Costume deposits were due November 15. If you have not sent in your deposit,
please do so ASAP.
The studio will be closed for Christmas holiday from Saturday, December 24 until Sunday, January 1.
Classes resume Monday, January 2.
I will finish the recital programs by December 15. So as not to sell out, and in order to reduce the number of families in both shows, the recitals will be mixed ages this year. If you are in both shows, you Dates to Remember
will be notified by letter and receive two free tickets to one show. I will also have the children’s names December
posted in the waiting room.

have been requests to include “I Believe In Hope” in the recital and I am weighing the possibilities.

The workshop is open to students ages seven and up. The fee is $45. It’s great fun and the range of February

12 ADT Workshop
ADT is also sponsoring a dance essay contest and the prize is free tuition for the February workshop.
Essays should answer the question “What is my favorite type of dance and why?” Students in seventh
and eighth grade are eligible. If you are interested, please ask Miss Helen for an application. The dead- March
line is December 15.
The Competition Team has two ways to help you with your holiday shopping this season. This Saturday, December 3 from 1:00-3:00 is the Holiday Sale at the studio. Items for sale include MAFA shirts
and bags, handmade tutus, hair accessories, homemade soaps, toys and jewelry. Gigi’s Dancewear will
also be selling apparel and accessories. I hope everyone comes to help the Competition Team in their April
fundraising efforts for Nationals.
If you have some shopping to do but can’t find the time, let us entertain your dancer while you complete those last minute errands. The Competition Team is hosting a Holiday Dance Day on December May
10. There are flyers available in the waiting room.
