We are hard at work on our dances, and excited to show everyone all that we’ve learned this year! Here again are the dates and times to remember: RECITAL I – All Creative Movement, Pre-K Combo, Combo I, II, II-III (Sat. @ 11:30), Kidz Hop (Fri. @ 3:30). Tuesday, June 2 Wednesday, June 3 Recital fee: 3:00-5:00 7:00 PM $30.00 MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL PERFORMANCE Includes two tickets and one recital DVD Extra tickets are $8.00 each RECITAL II – All other classes not listed above, including Combo III (Mon. 4:00), Kidz Hop (Tues. 4:00), Tumbling (Thurs. 4:00). Tuesday, June 2 Thursday, June 4 Friday, June 5 Recital fee: 6:00-9:30 7:00 PM 7:00 PM $60.00 MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE Includes two tickets to each show and one recital DVD. WE WILL ROCK YOU Recital t-shirts are available for order now. They are $15.00, and have the cast list on the back. The tshirts are white, short-sleeved, and have a red and navy blue design. So do it.” Kurt Vonnegut 4047 Somerset Drive, Prairie Village, KS 66208 * 913-383-1900 * www.dancerzunlimited.com * [email protected] Here are some events and news from Dancerz Unlimited: Master Class in Musical Theatre: On January 24, Shamicka Benn, one of the leads in town to perform in “Chicago” at the Kauffman Center came out to Dancerz Unlimited and taught a master musical theatre class. Members of the Topaz, Amethysts, Sapphires, Rubies, and Emeralds Performance classes were present to learn “All That Jazz.” Sophie Lawrence was chosen the “Broadway Bound” student of the event, as someone who really made a great impression on the teacher, and embodied the talent, technique, and energy needed to be noticed at an audtion! Congratulations, Sophie, and thanks to everyone who participated and had a great class with Shamicka. Great fun, and great to have a working professional in to the studio to teach our kids! Shamicka & Sophie DANCE CAMP is going to be held at Dancerz Corinth location on June 8-11. It will be a four-day tap/jazz intensive for students aged 10 and up. One of Roxanne’s mentors, Charles Goddertz, will be the tap teacher. Charles has performed on Broadway and in movies (“Enchanted”). He is a master teacher who has taught all over the country at dance conventions and tap festivals. He teaches tap at Steps in NYC, and has been doing so for over 25 years. Jazz teacher for camp: TBA, but will be announced very soon! Flyers will be sent home with your students. SUMMER SCHEDULE: A change in the dates!!!! The summer schedule will start one week earlier than previously noted. It will be a six-week session beginning on Monday June 15, and ending on Thursday, July 23. Every student will receive a copy in class, and it will be posted online as soon as it’s available, as well. Look for it within the next few weeks! On Friday, February 6, Alex Hess taught a high energy jazz class to the Briarwood Girl Scout Troop. The girls learned a lot and had a blast dancing with their friends!
