helps.
Corroboree Lodge
All our rooms are generously spacious, have private bathrooms (Ensuite) and their own tea
and coffee making facilities.
Official Check-in is 3.00pm and Check-out is 9.30am
However, if you prefer to get some extra skiing in on your days of arrival and departure, we
can store you bags and have somewhere for you to change clothes.
On arrival our Oversnow transport will pick you up at the Ski Tube Terminal in Perisher and
take you and your luggage the 300 metres over the snow to Corroboree. We ask you for
your approximate time of arrival to ensure a seamless transfer. This estimated arrival time
can be indicated at the time of booking and then adjusted closer to your arrival day.
Ski Hire.
There are a few options for you to arrange Ski hire. There is no “best” option as it depends
on your travel plans, your time of travelling and the number in your family or group. But we
would like to give you the following options so you can choose which best suits your plans.


Cooma
Rhythm Snow Sports are in Cooma where it’s easy to stop on the way through and
get all you need from them. Mention that you are staying at Corroboree and you will
receive a 10% discount. They are open 24/7 during the winter months and you can
go online and prearrange what you need. Go to http://www.rhythmsnowsports.com.au/
to check their details.
Smiggin Holes.
Snowline Ski Centre is in Smiggins which is a few minutes on a free shuttle bus down
the road from Perisher. You can drop you gear off to Corroboree and then catch the
free Shuttle to Smiggins to collect you hire equipment. Again, mention that you are
staying at Corroboree and you will receive a 10% discount. This saves you having to
carry ski gear with your luggage on arrival. However it does mean that you have to
come to Corroboree and then go out to get your hire equipment. The benefit of hiring
on the mountain is that they are conveniently close if there is a problem with any
equipment. Please note that Oversnow transfers to get the ski equipment are not
included in our Tariff. Snowline’s website has more details. Go to
http://www.snowlineskicentre.com.au/


Lake Crackenback Resort
Harro’s Snowsports is located in the Lake Crackenback Resort which is only 1
minute from the base of the Skitube terminal. If you are planning to use the Skitube
then it’s a convenient stop to grab all your gear before you jump on a train. They are
renowned for the quality of their equipment and their service. You can get more
information from their website at http://www.harrosnowsports.com.au/
Perisher Valley
The Perisher Valley Ski Centre have a comprehensive equipment hire shop in the
main centre in Perisher. Being a much larger concern, the equipment available may
not always be as good as the other options listed. However their customer service
has always been very good and it’s close, it’s easy and this is where you go if you
purchase a Ski Ticket “Bundle” that may include lessons and ski hire. Go to the
Perisher website for more details http://www.perisher.com.au/lessonshire/snowsports-hire.html
Ski Tickets
Perisher has recently introduced electronic ticketing system that uses RFID technology. This
means that the “Ski Ticket” is now a plastic card similar to a credit card and that after you
have your “Card” all ticket transactions can now be done on-line. You can pre-purchase your
“Card” on the Perisher Website and pick them up when you are in Perisher. You can then go
online to “top up” the card as required so you no longer have to visit the ticket office. Ever.
ON SNOW vs OFF SNOW
Many people have asked us about the difference between staying On-Snow in Perisher as
opposed to staying Off-Snow somewhere like Jindabyne.
There is no doubt that staying on the snow for your holiday is more expensive. However the
difference sometimes is not that much and when you consider all the other aspects of a
snow holiday, there are some convincing arguments to stay on the snow.
We have compared the cost for a family of 4 to stay 5 nights at Corroboree, on the snow in
Perisher, and the same family to stay in a self-catered apartment in Jindabyne, There are
many variables to consider and there will always be differences but we have included the
obvious costs like the cost of food and fuel, however we cannot put a value on the personal
experience and the value of a REAL holiday break from domestic duties for both mum and
dad.
5 nights at Corroboree cost approximately $3400.00 total cost includes travel to Perisher and
arrival to Corroboree
Points to note:
 No additional access to the car is necessary after arrival.
 No additional expense and effort to provide breakfasts and dinners
 Wake up in the morning to a full buffet breakfast before you walk out the door at
8.30am to ski or board to the first lifts to experience “First Tracks”
 As Corroboree is so close to the action, you can come and go as you please during
the day making it easy to manage each individual’s needs. Kids get tired and need a
break, some people don’t want to ski all day, and some people need to catch on an
important e-mail or 2.
5 nights in Jindabyne cost approximately $2200.00
Points to note:
 Need to pay National Parks entry fee daily (included in above)
 Need to get up early and drive to Perisher. This can take about 40 minutes best
case. (It takes 30 minutes to drive Perisher to Jindabyne without traffic during



summer). However this drive can take up to an hour or 2 during the season
depending on the weather and traffic conditions at the time. We have heard of people
taking well over 4 hours to get down the mountain to Jindabyne in the afternoon.
We must mention the inconvenience of having to carry snow chains but also the
potential hassle of have to fit them which is generally in the middle of a blizzard.
(4WDs are exempt)
We included the cost to feed the family breakfast and dinner for the 5 night stay.
Including the cost to eat out 2 of the 5 nights
Once you park at Perisher you are there for the day. With no chance of a comfortable
respite for the family during the day.
Pre-season Exercises
It’s important to condition your muscles before your ski holiday. We suggest that you start
exercising at least 8 weeks in advance but it’s always better to start earlier and it’s never too
late to start. Even it’s only the week before you are on the snow. Anna is a qualified personal
trainer and we have put together a few Videos to show some suggestions. See below.
Note that these exercise videos are to be used as a guide only. Please be aware of your
body and cease immediately if any pain occurs.
Lunges. Squats. Arm bicep/triceps.
