ABOUT US
Die Geschichte von Kerbholz beginnt 2011:
Nachdem die beiden Gründer Matthias &
Moritz eine längere Zeit durch Zentralamerika gereist waren, hatten sie ihre Liebe zu
Holz wiederentdeckt. Überall auf ihrem Weg
war es ihnen begegnet, ob als Surfbrett oder
als Terrasse des Hostels, ob auf Indiomärkten oder am Strand. Sie verliebten sich von
Neuem in dieses zeitlose, haptisch angenehme und stets warm und organisch wirkende
Material und waren überzeugt: Holz brauchte
dringend ein Revival in der Mode des Alltags.
Aus dieser Idee, langen Abenden mit viel Rotwein und noch mehr Herzblut ist Kerbholz
entstanden. Seit 2012 bietet Kerbholz Holzuhren und Holzbrillen an, handgefertigt aus
Naturhölzern, nachhaltig und ohne Kompromisse bei Design oder Qualität.
The story of Kerbholz begins in 2011 with an
idea:
After the two founders Matthias & Moritz had
been travelling throughout Central America
for a while, they rediscovered their love for
wood. Everywhere along their way it surrounded them, as a surfboard, as the wooden terrace of the hostel, on an artisan market or at
the beach. They fell in love with this timeless,
haptically pleasant and always warm and organic material and were convinced: Wood
needed a revival in modern Streetwear!
From this idea, long evenings with a lot of red
wine and even more passion Kerbholz was
born. Since 2012 Kerbholz offers wooden
watches and sunglasses, handmade from
natural wood, sustainable and without any
compromises in design or quality.

Unser Ferdinand ist eine Hommage an die Zeiten der großen Draufgänger des Motorsports.
Die Zeiten, in denen Rennfahrer todesmutige,
verwegene Helden waren. Ferdinand vereint die klassischen Linien legendärer Autos wie
die des Porsche 917 und erinnert an Männer
wie Steve McQueen, die in ihnen zu Weltruhm
fuhren.

Wie die Meisten von uns ist Justus ein Kind
der 80er. Im Gegensatz zu den Meisten von
uns scheint die Zeit an ihm jedoch spurlos
vorbeigegangen zu sein. So wirkt er heute
noch genauso cool wie auf der Nase von Jake
und Elwood Blues.
Like most of us Justus is a child of the 80s.
But unlike most of us it seems that time has
left no marks on him, and today he still looks
as cool and easy going as on the noses of
Jake and Elwood Blues.

Als Kind aus einem kleinen Dorf Süddeutschlands wurde Cornelius gehänselt, weil er anders war. Seiner Zeit voraus, ging er nach
New York, bevor es teuer und langweilig wurde, nach New York zu gehen. Dort fand er einen Galeristen, bevor es hip und langweilig
war, Galeristen zu haben. Hier versteht man
ihn, oder zumindest, dass er anders ist.

Pfiffig war er wohl, der redegewandte, gestiefelte Kater Hinze. So überredete er den
Müllerssohn, ihm Stiefel zu schenken, statt
ihn zu Handschuhen zu verarbeiten. Aus Dankbarkeit für seine neuen Latschen jagte Hinze
diesem einen Sack Rebhühner, die er für pures Gold an den König verkaufte. Am Ende
gab es die Königstochter noch oben drauf so wird’s gemacht!

A traditional french tale conveys that Hinze
was the smart booted cat. He persuaded the
miller’s son to give him boots instead of processing him to gloves. Thankful for his new
footwear he hunted hundreds of partridges
for his master who sold to the king for their
weight in gold. Eventually the miller married
the King‘s daughter – cause money ain’t for
nothing and the chicks for free.

Benannt nach dem stolzen und flinken Hasen
Lamprecht. Dieser war wohl auch eine ziemliche Saufnase, schließlich verlor er für eine
Goldmünze und eine Flasche Branntwein 73
mal auf der Buxtehuder Heide gegen den
schummelnden Igel.
Named after the proud and agile rabbit
Lamprecht of the medieval tale; of whom not
many know that he seems to have been a
drunkard, since he lost 73 times for a gold
coin and a bottle of brandy against the cheating hedgehog.
