We have a new baby at Naturalmat. In fact we have three new
babies – the gorgeous little Nuala (that’s mine) the brand new
Isabelle (that’s Jon’s) and our exciting new brochure.
Tucking Nuala into her West Country Willow Crib for the first
time was a reassuring moment. I can’t say she has slept through
the night ever since she was born, (you would never believe
me!) but 6 months in there is no doubt that she prefers her
Naturalmat mattress to anything else she has slept on. She
doesn’t get sweaty, or uncomfortable and actually enjoys going
to bed. The most comforting thing for me is that everything
is completely chemical free and natural so I know she is
sleeping in the safest environment possible.
As co-directors, both Mark and I feel strongly that no parent
should ever have to compromise when it comes to their
children, and from experience we know that true confidence
and contentment comes from peace of mind.
As for our other new baby – here it is! Our latest brochure is
packed full of some wonderful new products as well as some
old faithfuls. We hope you enjoy it, and find something you like.

Natural, Organic and Green
From cot bed to flower bed, our handmade mattresses are made from
organic and sustainable sources of raw materials, all of which are
biodegradable and comply with fair trade policies. Our ‘wool project’
means we keep an eye on our carbon footprint by using organic
lambswool from local Soil Association farms in the Westcountry.
All our organic wool is washed and processed on the edge of Dartmoor
using water from the river Dart and we ensure that all water used
in washing the wool is recycled into the river with no environmental
impact. Even our packaging is eco friendly, made from potato starch
and a mixture of recyclable and renewable paper sources from the
Forestry Stewardship Council. We’re green... and we’re getting
greener by the minute.

About Our Mattresses
Babies spend over half their lives asleep, so creating a safe, healthy and
comfortable sleeping environment is one of the most important things
a parent can do for their child. Naturalmat parents can be happy in the
knowledge that they are doing the very best for their children – and for
the world they live in.
Breathability
A breathable mattress is essential for babies as they cannot easily
regulate their own body temperature. A poorly ventilated mattress may
cause their temperature to go up and down quickly creating discomfort
and waking them up. The natural fibres we use are inherently
breathable and self ventilating, allowing a constant circulation of air
around the mattress. This helps your baby regulate their temperature
so they remain cool and comfortable through the night.
No waking up and no tears.
Comfort and Support
Our mattresses have naturally sprung cores which provide a far superior
and longer lasting level of support than any other synthetic foam or
spring. It is important to us that our mattresses support your child’s
body and pressure points during the most vital growth and development
phases of their lives.
Non-Allergenic and Anti-Dust Mite
More and more babies suffer from allergies and asthma, which are
caused by dust mites. We work hard to protect your baby from them.
Our organic lambswool is bathed in a mixture of essential oils of
lavender, lemon and eucalyptus, which renders our mattresses anti-dust
mite and gives certified allergy protection. Our natural latex foam offers
complete protection from dust mites and is 100% hypoallergenic.
Dust mites are killed at 57°C and as every mattress has a removable
pure cotton cover which can be machine washed at 60°C, those pesky
dust mites don’t stand a chance.
Naturally Fire Retardant
We are proud to be the first company in the UK to pass all British
Standards, European and USA fire regulations without the use of any
chemicals, unnatural treatments or fire retardant additives.

Coco Mat
What Makes it Great?
Our Coco Mat is ideal for cribs, Moses baskets, prams and small
cots. Made from organic coir from the husk of coconuts, it is the
most breathable of all our mattresses which makes it ideal for small
babies. The gentle spring of the coir is surrounded by plenty of organic
lambswool with our natural anti-dust mite protection. This helps with
insulation and provides a soft tufting to the top of the mattress.

Our latex is completely natural and is tapped straight from the rubber
tree. The latex forms a springy core and is sandwiched between layers
of organic coir for extra support, which is then wrapped in our anti-dust
mite lambswool. The Latex Mat is our most hypoallergenic mattress, to

Our Mohair Mat is our most luxurious, firm and supportive mattress.
It has superior spring due to the layer of long horsehair fibres, which
sits between two layers of organic coir. As the longest natural fibre
known, horse tail hair gives the most superior and supple spring. The

Bespoke Mattresses
Made to Measure Service
Most cribs and cradles are non standard sizes, making it difficult
to find a new mattress to fit. Whether you have an antique crib or
a cot, pram or bed that is a non standard size, we can make you
a bespoke mattress to fit.
What do we need from you?
If your mattress is a rectangular mattress we need the length and
width measurements.
If your mattress is oval or an irregular shape please send us a paper
template so we can achieve the perfect fit for you. Please see our
Contact page for where to send your template to.
Made to Measure Service Prices
Your made to measure mattress will be priced according to the nearest
stock size up from the size you need plus the relevant charge below.
There is no additional charge for bespoke crib mattresses –
our made to measure service is already included in the price.

Returns
If for any reason you aren’t happy with your items, please return them
to us within 14 days unused and in their original packaging and we will
gladly arrange a refund or exchange. We regret that we cannot give a
refund for any made to measure mattresses, so please double check
your dimensions before you send them to us!
