A WORD FROM DOUG...
Welcome to Spring!
I love Spring… I love Easter.
Easter Week Services
I think I like Easter even more than Christmas.
Maundy Thursday Service
April 2 at 7:00 p.m.
You see, Easter is the celebration of what Christians
are all about; A Risen Savior, a Restored Life, an
opportunity of Reconciliation and Restoration – a
fresh Revival of Life.
Easter Sunrise Service
April 5 at 7:00 a.m.
Breakfast at 8:15 a.m.
Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.
We have all heard the little saying – “April Showers
bring May Flowers.” And it is true. This is a cause
and effect relationship – it rains, the ground is
nourished and the flowers grow. Cause and Effect –
it is true.
Easter Celebration Service
April 5 at 10:45 a.m.
There was a country song that said – “cause and
effect, chain of events, all of this chaos makes
perfect sense….” – If you look closely you can
always find a cause and effect relationship.
SO WHAT, you say? Well besides the fact that so
many times in the Bible we read of great promises
and outcomes that are followed by the word
“IF” (speaking of cause and effect)
In - James 5:16 – “The effective prayer of a
righteous man can accomplish much.” And as the
Simple English version puts it – “When a person is
right with God, the power of his sincere prayer is
tremendous!”
Cause and Effect! God has promised to hear the
prayers of His own.
Hudson Taylor of years gone by said –
“The prayer power has never been tried to its full
capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine
power and grace wrought in the place of weakness,
failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s
standing challenge, ‘Call unto me, and I will answer
thee, and show thee great and mighty things which
thou knowest not!”

Easter
Sunday, March 22 5:00 p.m. ‐ Fellowship Hall Crievewood Family,
Your Personnel Committee invites you to participate
in a town hall meeting on March 22, 2015 at 5:00
p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to discuss the proposal
that was presented at our last quarterly business
meeting. The proposal presented to the church was
to call Andrew Causey as the full-time Minister of
Music. The Personnel Committee is charged with
moving forward with the proposal and values the
input of the church family. We invite you to be a part
of planning the future of God’s church.
We will be seeking your input on the following:
 How do we as a church respond to the proposal?
 What concerns (financial or otherwise) do you
have?
 What opportunities do you see?
 How does our response enable Crievewood to
further equip the church and impact the
community?
We are looking forward to a great discussion with our
church family.

What I am saying is this – let’s all pray for a Holy Spirit
led Revival. Let us understand that if we want an effect
– there will always be a cause behind it…
Let us answer God’s long standing challenge - “IF My
people who are called by My name will humble
themselves and pray…”
I love you all –
DOUG

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
Who was Annie Armstrong?
(part 3)
Weekly Prayer Concern
Correspondence
May We Contact You?
For Kids:
cont. from pg. 1 As Annie met other missionaries in history making
roles (Edmonia Moon who was the first single
woman sent by the Foreign Mission Board to a
foreign country and a year and a half later she met
Lottie Moon on her way to China as well) she began
seriously seeking God’s will for her life. Asking
where she needed to be in a foreign land or here at
home.
As Annie continued her work in Baltimore, God
began to reveal His plans for her. Her tireless work
ethic and understanding of people’s needs to band
together to accomplish more and more, God showed
her that her place was here to do His work.
Working with the women in Maryland naturally led
Annie to expand her horizons to the women in the
South and all of the United States. She helped the
women form Missions Societies where they could
come together to pray, learn about missionaries and
their work in foreign lands as well as here in the U.S.
Through Annie’s efforts, the Christmas Offering for
foreign missions was established and later it was
named after Lottie Moon who initially challenged the
women to pray and give. These Mission Societies
were the forerunner of present day WMU and the
continual emphasis on missions education for every
man, woman and child in all of our churches. WMU,
as Annie Armstrong envisioned, has taken up the
mantra Pray, Give, Do and Go to further God’s
kingdom.
