Children’s Services Support Worker

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
The primary function of this position is to provide supports for children with developmental
disabilities in an integrated, high energy, summer day camp. Assume general responsibility for
all children with developmental disabilities attending the SummerScapes program and assume
direct responsibility for children assigned to you for support on a daily basis, including (but not
limited to) cleanliness, toileting, eating, dressing and lifting. Ensure that each child is
integrated into their group and encourage and promote social participation between all the
children. Work cooperatively with staff and be involved wherever possible in planning
activities. Follow the direction and supervision of the Children’s Services Manager. All other
duties and responsibilities are outlined in the Job Description for “Children’s Services Support
Worker.”
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The successful applicant should have some experience in working or volunteering with
children with developmental disabilities in an integrated setting. Must be a minimum of 19
years of age and have the ability to physically carry out all duties (ie. lifting & transferring).
Must have a positive, pleasant, and cooperative work attitude; be creative and prepared to
function as part of a team. Should have a valid BC Class 4 Drivers License, First Aid/CPR
Certification and be able to meet all other CSCL employment criteria (eg. Clear TB Skin Test,
Criminal Record Check clearance, Medical Certificate, etc.).
HOURS OF WORK:
Full-Time, Temporary from Monday June 29, 2015 – Friday August 28, 2015
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
LOCATION:
Chilliwack, BC
RATE OF PAY:
As per Collective Agreement, Grid Level 10, Step 1 ($16.33)
