Assist in programming needs for various software platforms and assists Program Analysts as needed. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Primary focus is to insure that hardware and software compatibilities are maintained while assisting other department engineers in a comprehensive fashion. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. A System Engineer provides investigation, diagnostic testing and repair of hardware, software, and infrastructure systems and helps insure enterprise compatibility. 2. Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. 3. Monitor the performance of systems. Troubleshoot and resolve computer and telephony related issues. 4. Maintain software applications, operating systems, and regular maintenance of software platforms. 5. Assist in virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box). 6. Provide a comprehensive approach to maintaining hardware and software systems by working closely with software programmers and infrastructure specialists. 7. Provide quality service that continuously improves, that meets or exceeds public expectations, and that ensures all are treated with courtesy, dignity and respect.
