Heart failure is a common cardiovascular condition with high morbidity and mortality. Unlike
western countries where heart failure predominantly a disease of elderly, in India it affects
younger group. There is a rising menace of heart failure in India, the reliable estimates are
lacking but conservatively estimated prevalence in India due to CAD, hypertension, obesity ,
diabetes and rheumatic heart disease to range from 1.3 to 4.6 million.
It is a matter of great pleasure that cardiological society of India and its heart failure council is
organizing the 1st national conference on heart failure “ CSI-HFC2015” on 8 and 9 August 2015 at
Indore to be hosted by CSI-Indore chapter with the theme “Fighting heart failure: from
prevention to devices”. This will provide a complete programme for heart failure specialists
that enhance their knowledge, advance their skill and apprise them of the latest development in
their direct and related fields of activity. The mission is to improve the quality of life and
longevity through better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the heart failure. Dr. U. Samal,
the convener of the council with his scientific committee colleagues is working hard to bring out a
rich scientific agenda covering every aspect of heart failure.
Indore, the city known for its hospitality and delicious food is situated between two important
shivlings, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar. A central power city, Indore exerts a significant
impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and
entertainment and has been described as the commercial capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh.
CSI-Indore chapter has great pleasure in extending a warm and cordial invitation to you for this
academic mega event. Apart from a rich scientific programme we have also planned feast of
recreation, entertainment and sightseeing. Indore is pleasant in the month of August and is very
well connected by road, train and air to all parts of the country.
